In regard to Ms. [redacted] and her 2005 C240, the work we preformed was for the replacement of the EIS module. The EIS module had a malfunction that resulted in no communication with most of the control modules in the car. The EIS module needed to be...
special ordered and we do apologize for the delay. Once the EIS module was replaced, we were able to communicate with the other control units as designed. We then cleared out the pre existing codes and test drove her vehicle. The vehicle displayed none of the previous symptoms and no codes returned. At that point we released the vehicle Ms. [redacted]. When Ms. [redacted] picked up the C240, we did mention to her there could be more underlining issues but as we were unable to duplicate any problems and no fault codes had returned that at that point we could not be certain.
Ms. [redacted] called back and made an appointment as she stated that the ESP light returned. Once she returned with the vehicle the ESP light had gone off and her C240 had no symptoms. In scanning the vehicle we found multiple stored codes pertaining to communication issues and wheel speed issues. The codes were all stored and not current. Since they were not current we were unable to be completely sure of the exact component that was intermittently malfunctioning. After our technician cleared the stored codes and test drove the vehicle, none of the codes returned. We explained to Ms. [redacted] it was most likely an ESP control module causing the issues. The ESP module is a $1,400 repair and as we are mindful of all our clients we wanted to be absolutely sure before having her make that investment. We suggested she drive the car until the light came on so we may see her C240 while having the issue, she could come straight here anytime it happened and we would check it.
We communicated to Ms. [redacted] that the issue with her vehicle has not yet been fully resolved. We do apologize if our communication was unclear in any way, but the replacement we performed of the EIS module is a separate repair from the needed ESP module replaced in Salem.
