Here is our response to above mentioned case: Mr*** brought his vehicle into our service department on November 7th, with the vehicle's top stuck in the open position. He was quoted $***for an initial diagnosis of the problem. It was discovered that a limit
switch located in the right front corner of the roof area was damaged. No other visible damage was noted or fault diagnosis codes stored to indicate any additional problems were present. Replacement of the damaged switch was authorized and after replacing the switch the top operated partially to what as known as "service mode" but no further. Faults then indicated that an additional limit switch for the compartment lid was faulty. Customer approved replacement of this switch. At this point the top would close manually but not as designed. The switches that control the top operation work in sequence where one switch needs to see a signal from a previous operated switch in order to work or show a fault. After further discussion, Mr*** informed us that his vehicle had been shot multiple times as evident by bullet holes in the passenger side door, right front fender and possibly underside and rear of car, bullet holes were concealed with colored tapeFurther diagnosis would be required but Mr*** declined further work. Mr***'s vehicle has multiple issues not related to workmanship or misdiagnosis. The issues stem from a highly unusual case of the vehicle sustaining multiple gun shots Please let me know if you have any further questions,Regards, Larry D*** *** ***

Complaint ID#: [redacted]I last observed the vehicle around 011/16. I then scheduled to pick up and make the rest of the payment around 11/20. I was told shown and by mechanics that the convertible top was opening and closing using the standard button inside of the vehicle. That I would just have to manually close and open the trunk at certain points of the convertible top being in operation. However when attempted to use this button after receiving that did not happen. The convertible top switch actually sounded as if there was no motor in it, when prior to there work the motor could be heard. Also upon further examination of the vehicle, we found the trunk was slightly shifted in the same place I was told I could manually operate. Also there is no damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle, the vehicle has been examined by police, the incident is documented. The undercarriage area has been thoroughly examined and there is no evidence of any damage. Also I was led on to believe that the $[redacted] agreed upon after the diagnosis would fix my convertible top, only to be told after the work had been done and agreed upon, that I would then have to pay for another part to fix the vehicle, then after that was installed I'd pay for another piece. I feel that should've been discussed up front so that I would at least have the option to take the vehicle to a different mechanic for a more reasonable price. When I brought in my Mercedes the top was stuck open, and now the top is stuck closed, there are clearly different issues with the convertible top concerning the trunk. I was not given the service of opening my top, which I was guaranteed when I received my vehicle back. I feel I was led on, and my convertible top still does not operate, so I feel at least a refund is pretty fair.

Review: Originially took car in because the strutts on the driver side were bad. Vehicle was retruned a second time because the problem still was not correct and was told that the air flow needed to be fixed to make the vehicle level off right. They also needed to add nuts and bolts to correct this problem. Returned vehicle again because there was a shimmering in the back of the vehicle whenever it went over any type of bumps in the road. After strutts/shocks were replaced, I put new tires on the car. Took vehicle back to get a four wheel alignment. Then noticed after a month that the tires were wearing on the vehicle. Returned vehicle again and was then told that the issue could not be resolved becuase the right front of the vehicle had been welded. They decided to tell me this after I had gotten the alignment and all the other prior repairs done to the vehicle. Was also told that I would have to constantly replace my tires because of this issue.

If this was the case I would not have spent nearly $4,000.00 on these types of repairs, I would have purchased another vehicle because this was a waste of money!Desired Settlement: To me this has been a guessing game with them because they will tell me that its one issue, but then turns out to be something else. I believe they knew all along that this vehicle would never be aligned correctly but instead they continue to string me along.

I would like to have my money refunded!!!, as Mercedes Benz of Midlithian knew actually what they were doing and actually took advantage of me! Bottom line, I had all these services done in order to have a dependable car.

This now makes me wonder now if they performed any of the services.
