Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre Reviews (%countItem)

AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY BEWARE
In April of 2020 I leased a 2020 E350 4matic from this dealership, mind you this was my second car from them. The first in 2017 had no missed or even late payments. However, this time Mercedes-Benz Financial Services choose to run my credit report TWICE through TransUnion; 2 hours apart . I guess because I am black I cannot have good credit so they choose to “run it again “ to Ensure I was qualified. Dragging my credit score down over 20 points for TWO hard inquiries. Of course they did not inform me that they were going to do this, I was notified later by my credit monitoring service and when I inquired all I got was the runaround from this company. This is a foul and deceptive practice and I’m sure their Caucasian applicants are not treated with such disrespect

Pleasant day I own a 2013 Mercedes Benz and I usually service at this location. My car for some reason was getting water inside every time it rains, which was causing my entire car floor to be completely wet and start getting mold. I took it to the dealer, they advise they can fixed it, my insurance company paid around $3000 directly to the dealership. When I went to pick up the car I notice the floors was still wet and the car wasn't even clean, it look just the same as when I took it, they advise me to leave it and they will look into what happen. They called me and advise car is okay, to come and pick it up. The car went home same issue, I call the dealership they advise to bring it back. Finally again took my car home, at this point the same issue, every time it rains my car is completely soak, at this point my floors are completely ruin, radio stop working, since the box is located under the seat; which is wet. At this point I had no other choice but to get a car cover and every time it is schedule to rain, I have to run and covered it. Basically now my husband is my driver, since I am tired of removing and putting back the covers. I have stop using this dealership and never thought this would happen to me. I took it to another Mercedes dealership and they advise they would have to charge me again to look at the issue. I just really want to notified everyone to be aware of this scam dealership for what they did to me. I really need my car to be fixed or it is a completely total loss.

I inquired about a used Sprinter Truck and the gave me a price of $39,143.00 I have proof. Once I called to set up my down payment they told me the price was $41143.00 and there was no negotiating. I wasn't trying to negotiate I was trying to buy it for the price it was advertised. I know this is illegal and would like action to be taken on Rockville Mercedes.

Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre Response • Jan 21, 2020

We contacted *** immediately advising him that the pricing of the Sprinter he was interested had in fact NOT changed from his original quote. We determined there was a systems error that occurred over that weekend and prices of vehicles were not reflected correctly through our Sales screens; our salesperson gave that higher price due to this error. Once we realized this and completed corrections throughout our Sales systems we worked with *** and he took delivery of this Sprinter on January *** 2020 at the price he was quoted and was extremely happy. We appreciated his patience to work through this error and look forward to servicing his vehicle and any future vehicle needs he may have.

I purchased a vehicle from MBRVC and the mileage disclosure states 10 miles. However, the car I received had 42 miles on it. I contacted the dealership and it was confirmed that the actual mileage on the car is actually 42 and not 10. I signed off on a car a new car with 10 miles but received a demo with 42 miles and an open fuse box. Screenshots were sent as proof on the same day that the vehicle was purchased. I also reported it to the manager who has not responded.

Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre Response • Oct 21, 2019

We have been in contact with *** numerous times by phone but mostly by email at her request. *** has brought up some other items to us that she is concerned with in addition to the mileage issue sited in her complaint. We have addressed all of these concerns in addition to the mileage issue. We had explained the circumstances of the mileage to her at the time of her purchase as well as after we received the complaint. We have offered to change her paperwork as well as offer her payment for the additional miles over the standard amount in a new vehicle. *** has not agreed to come in and receive the check or to revise her paperwork regarding the mileage. We explained that this vehicle was never used as a demo and that her vehicle came from another dealership and needed additional interior and exterior cleaning preparation and inspections which resulted in 32 additional miles on the vehicle. We have made several good faith gestures to try and resolve this issue for her but *** is ignoring our emails and calls and has now taken to social media and spreading negative information about our Dealership instead of trying to resolve her complaint.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I was not informed about the mileage at the time of purchase. In fact, the trip meter on the vehicle was reset to conceal the mileage on the vehicle. Instead of showing the total mileage, the odometer was set to show the last trip at the time of delivery - I submitted pictures to the manager to corroborate this and they were not acknowledged. The information that I was given at the time of purchase is what was reflected on the paperwork. I was never informed that the vehicle would be driven to the dealership. This information was not given to me after I made the complaint to the company, it's not until the manager got involved that the company changed their story to say that I was given the information. All the emails and communication with employees reflect otherwise. In addition to the mileage, there are several problems that confirm that this is not a new vehicle. I refused to sign the paperwork because this would indicate that I am cosigning on this company's fraudulent practices. I was also informed by the bank that the dealership submitted false information on my credit application that is not reflected on the papers I signed. I never agreed to purchase this car as it is and a $50 check will not resolve this issue. The company has not acted in good faith to resolve this complaint.

The build quality of my car is horrible and has remained poor despite MANY visits to the dealer. The paint is soft which cost me $1500 to have the paint corrected and protected as the dealership buffed off most of the clear coat which is now down to 35 microns of paint left in some spots which should be 70-90 microns. I had a major leak in the trunk which was repaired. The rear decklid has been repaired 4 times over the past 3 years for vibrations and still vibrates. I’ve had the battery fail on me which left me stranded twice. The rear back-up camera fails intermittently (still not fixed). I had a whistle above 40mph for TWO YEARS before they found the warped plastic grille causing it. I’ve had both headlights fog up internally which was repaired under warranty but will affect the longevity of the internal electrics of the headlight system. There is a major recall as of 2017 that is still not done! I was told the car came with a limited slip rear differential and almost found out the hard way it was not equipped with one. Over $3000 later, the car is now fitted with an LSD from a 507 edition. My luxury car does not have real leather, instead it is called MB-Tex. . My glass roof has been popping and leaking for years and taken apart several times. It no longer pops, but it leaks so bad my headliner and front seats are stained, even though I purchased 3 warranties (Manufacturer, CPO and Extended warranties = $, $$$.$$), they want money for labor to investigate before they cover it which became an aggravating negotiation. My engine cover was damaged on a repair and they tried to hide it. In August of 2019, the Air Conditioning failed and has been repaired. On several occasions I had rude valets, one went so far and dropped my keys on the hood and gave that “look”. I bought the car with 2500 miles, barely a CPO it was so new, and I found out it had an aftermarket tune installed so they are not doing the CPO proper checks. Rockville Center Mercedes put the wrong engine oil in my car as reported by my oil analysis from Blackstone Laboratories. My engine has rattled on startup from the day I purchased it but I’m told its "normal" or "within operating guidelines" when it is really loud and has the wrong oil in it. My engine has whined under load which I was also told is normal, 3 years later they are replacing the idler pullies. Even $4000 worth of exhaust modifications couldn’t drown out the whine. I had strut tower bushings replaced which only temporarily solves an issue like my older Volkswagen did. The transmission shifts harshly so I’m told to drive it in a “Sport+” mode. Comfort mode should be comfortable, I would expect the harshness in the sport modes. Loaner cars have build quality issues, clean car faxes and suspect to have been in major accidents on at least two occasions.

purchased his Certified Pre-Owned 2014 AMG C63 from Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan in December of 2016, and utilized their Service facility for six months before his first visit to our Service facility on July , 2017. We have been addressing all of ***’s issues and complaints on his vehicle since that date as well as six additional visits as recently as this week.
To address all items cited in ***’s complaint please note the following work was completed to the Mercedes-Benz Standards:

We have repaired the rear deck lid, back in October 2018.
We confirmed the back-up camera functions properly in August of 2019.
We closed and completed one recall and await the parts for the remaining recall which is still pending for airbags.
All warranty packages purchased are in place, with one expiring within a few weeks of this writing and the second in August of 2021.
Air Conditioning was repaired under warranty in August of 2019.
*** stated we put the wrong engine oil in his vehicle. We provided proof to *** that day (in June of 2017) that certified Mercedes-Benz Genuine 5W40 engine oil was used in his vehicle. *** stated Blackstone Laboratories said it was “the wrong engine oil” but *** was unable to provide proof of this claim from Blackstone Laboratories.
Complaint of engine noise/rattle from this AMG C63 model was not found however, a whine from the engine was determined to be the idler pulleys which were removed and replaced under warranty.
Transmission shifts were consistent as per specifications of an AMG vehicle
We have also completed both Mercedes-Benz A and B Services, completed and closed one additional recall, replaced the battery, replaced rear differential which was at the customer's request with the customer supplying the parts, resealed the panoramic roof frame, and completed a full tire and wheel balancing and alignment.
We have addressed the issue *** cited regarding his experience with our personnel. This was used as a tool to coach and train our team members. At MBRVC we never want our customers to feel they were treated negatively in any way.
We QC check every individual loaner vehicle after every customer use to confirm it meets all Mercedes-Benz standards.
We have tried to work with *** at each visit but often our recommendations are declined or we are told that we are providing untruths to him. We are a certified Mercedes-Benz Dealership which must meet Mercedes-Benz standards and criteria that is managed consistently by MBUSA. We stand behind all our repair and services and have provided copies of all Repair Orders to confirm our work and interaction with ***.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The backup camera fails on an intermittent basis and has done so for a couple of years. To date, I have backed into two things because of this issue as the backup proximity alert does not function during this anomaly as well. I have shown RVC Mercedes the attached video but have been unable to recreate the issue at the dealer. I had a trunk leak which was repaired but I suspect caused my battery to fail, as it is in the low point of the leaking trunk, which left me stranded on two occasions before it was addressed. I also believe that the one resolved leak, the partially resolved roof leak (roof was taken apart for popping, the invoice does not say leaks but I did report leaking on me in driver and passenger seats as well as the popping which the noise has been resolved. The existing leak as depicted in "roof leak.jpg" I suspect is adversely affecting the backup camera as shown in the "backup cam fail.MOV" file. My car is not to be washed by RVC, and I was told a rain test was performed by Antoinette, but my car did not have any water spots like I have seen in the past and was no washed.
Airbag Recall is still pending for quite some time. According to the recall, my passenger airbag could fail in many ways and as a result can cause death. I have a wife and child who would like to ride around in my sports car, but instead we always take the family car. As a result, I barely drive the car, except for solitary leisure and occasional grocery runs. Between Insurance and my car payment, I am paying $1200/mo for what my wife jokes is a "driveway ornament".
Looking at oil sample #1, I provided an assumed viscosity of 0W40 which is recommended for my vehicle. Oil sample #1 states a "tad lower" viscosity which is suspect for "genuine" oil. So, for the next oil sample, I did not put a viscosity for oil sample #2 and let the lab tell me. Oil sample #2 report states viscosity as 5W30 which is not recommended for this engine. When sitting with Vinny who is a service manager @ RVC, with the documentation (RVC reports no documentation submitted), it was scoffed at and I got a long story about how Vinny was a technician for many years and that if im not going to keep the car forever, it wasn't really going to matter anyway. I did not give up, but In the end, I was told the documentation I supplied was speculative as someone else could have done those oil changes. They offered me a free oil change and promised to use the proper oil going forward. That was my last dealing with Vinny as his handling of the situation was extremely poor. I now deal with Antoinette, who is more pleasant, but she is not getting the job done either.
I have reported the engine rattle on startup ad nauseum to RVC Mercedes. The video, "rattle on startup.mov", should be listened to on headphones. The rattle is audible in the last couple of seconds. This is also an intermittent issue, which has been recreated several times at RVC but has yet to be resolved. My ears are trained to this noise and it occurs at various loudness on about 15-25% of startups regardless of engine temperature.
I have requested on several occasions to consider a trade in or a buy back, but that request has gone completely ignored. As with Mercedes Manhattan, I suspect if either of these requests were addressed, their profit margin would be significant as the deterrent. I was also completely ignored by George, a service writer,on my most recent visit to RVC. I have text messaging to prove this but is difficult to get to the right format for submittal.
I do suspect RVC to have been untruthful on many occasions. I am regularly told that the "owner" immediately goes to Antoinette whenever I post a *** review which are almost always negative. However, there are several people at RVC who monitor ***, none of them being the owner. I suspect this is purely psychological as I doubt an owner would circumvent people he is paying to do this job. I have also had exactly ZERO contact with the owner despite my ongoing issues. I feel like I have been completely given up on long ago by RVC, as I demand "The Best", which has not been delivered in my opinion. In fact, this is the worst ownership experience I have ever had.

I bring my car for repairs a few times they keep charging me but never Notice nothing was done, until the last tins I take it in because the coolant and the oil mixed together they said they fix it but nothing was fixed when my husband pick up my car and drive it outside and start to inspect the repair that they said they fix.nothing was done. they get almost 5000 from me I'm not rich and the manager was so rude and Prejudice go right done to the staff Angela also the rest. I need my money because nothing was done n I not rich it cost me to make a different company get the job done

Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre Response • Mar 28, 2019

has been a Service Customer of Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre for almost a year with four scheduled appointment dates in that time period. The total amount of repairs from these visits amounted to $2,545.20. During each visit for service, the *** declined multiple repairs that were necessary for their car to be brought up to a level that would make the vehicle secure for driving. We offered the *** courtesy discounts and absorbed several charges so this level could be reached Even with this however, each time the vehicle left our facility it required additional repairs which they refused. For each service appointment, the *** requested a Courtesy Loaner Vehicle and we provided one every time. For their last appointment on 12//18, we notified the *** on 12//18 that their car was ready. For some reason, our phone calls/texts and emails were ignored Our loaner vehicle remained in their possession for a total of 15 days, (returned to us on January ) and was driven 2,908 miles, which included out of state locations which is strictly prohibited in the Loaner Agreement. This was also the case for their prior appointment on 11/*/19; when they were notified their vehicle was ready for pickup on that same day and the loaner vehicle was kept for (4) additional days and driven 664 miles. Again, repairs that were recommended at both these appointments and two subsequent appointments were declined. Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre has made every attempt to 100% service the ***’s vehicle but repairs have consistently been declined and many costs were absorbed by our Dealership in good faith.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because

I took my car to the dealer to get a problem with my Radiator repair they told me that my Reservoir which keeps the coolant is no good, and some other hose was leaking. They would fix it and the would stop the problem. and they did tell me that something else was wron but I want the immediate problem the leak to be fix I told Angela the person that I made the appointment with and got the loaner from, I told her I need my car to work because I'm an travel nurse. As far as returning the loaner when I was told to return the loaner I was at work and I told Angela when she told me my car was ready and I was able to drop off the car 1st thing the next day, when I returned the loaner and got my car the same problem persist even though they say the problem was fix, when I got to my destination I noticed coolant under my car, I immediately text Angela and told her, the next day I had to refill the radiator with coolant I text and called Angela and spoke with her manager they was not willing to help me resolve it

I leased a vehicle from Mercedes Benz of Rockville centre in Sept of 2017. I was advised during the sales process by Tom Ahrens that I would be able to trade up without penalty to a higher end model with higher payments of course. I have not been able to get Tom to abide by that end of the deal. He keeps telling me to wait another year which is not what I was led to believe would be required. In addition, I have a disability that makes driving extremely difficult and even painful and the particular model car I purchased which also includes run flat tires are known to have ride quality issues.

Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre Response • Feb 06, 2019

We have been in touch with *** before and after he filed this grievance with the Revdex.com as well as many other social media sites. We have a meeting scheduled with him at our Showroom this Friday 3/*/19 with the Sales Managers and Director of Operations to sit down with him and resolve his issues. I will forward the outcome of that meeting and the resolution reached afterward.

Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre Response • Mar 01, 2019

We have made numerous attempts to try and meet with *** after he cancelled his appointment with us on Friday February as was confirmed with him. We have been unsuccessful in reaching *** to resolve this matter for him. We continue to wait for him to return our call to set a day and time to finalize this matter for him.

I leased a vehicle with this dealership and was supposed to take possession of the vehicle on Christmas Eve to give as a gift to my wife. They were late and I could not take possession until the ***. When I traded in my old vehicle I was told that I needed a new title shipped to the dealership and that if I wanted to take possession I would need go provide a hostage check. The dealership recieved the title on the *** before I took ownership of the vehicle. They had me wait 5 hours at the dealership telling me every 30 minutes that the car would be ready in 20 more minutes after they had taken the plates off of my trade in. I was told that I had to write a check for the full lease which was a one pay lease and give them my car and that I would recieve a check back in a week for the value of my trade in ($6500). I was also told that the dealership was sending a "gift" valued at $250 to my house for making me spend 5 hours waiting at the dealership telling me "20 more minutes, I apologize sir" about a dozen times. It has been over 3 weeks and I have recieved neither the gift that was promised to me nor my $6500 check. Everytime I call, the sales rep and the managers are either not in or unavailable.

Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre Response • Jan 16, 2019

unfortunately was misinformed as it related to his receipt of the $6,500 check and Gift Certificate promised to him. He needed to advise the Dealership as soon as he received the original Lien Release for his trade-in vehicle so that we could finalize his transaction. He actually received it the mail the day he contacted the Revdex.com and when we reached out to him to discuss the situation- he advised us he had the Lien Release, *** came down to the Dealership last night, 1/15/19, bringing the Lien Release, and we gave him the check for $6,500 and a Gift Voucher valued at $250 in the MB Boutique that we had been holding for him to finalize his deal. *** was completely satisfied and we are glad he is a happy member of the MBRVC family today.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely

I *** bought a car from the Dealership named Rockville Centre Mercedes Benz. I paid for the car 64,000 dollars which I only drive the car for about 2-3 weeks and an engine light came on which means to me that there is issues with the car. I spoke with the sales manager on the car and he doesn't want to replace the car. I believe that's unfair because I found out they sell cars that are lemon and they don't want to replace the car. Please Revdex.com if you can help with the situation I would appreciate it
