Review: Merchants Carpet did an installation of VCT flooring in my home and did not provide a written contract as required by law since the installation was over $500. The company installed a [redacted] Product and did not follow the manufactures suggestion for use or the very detailed instructions that required the home to be heated to a certain temperature to acclimate the product prior to installation. The installation was done in an unoccupied and unheated home and has proved to be incorrectly installed.For the past seven months, I have done extensive research and contacted Merchants Carpets with my complaints which have not been resolved. I have four letters from licensed contractors who have written that Merchants Carpet is responsible for a poor installation.Merchants Carpet did not follow the VCT install instructions from [redacted] Flooring and that company is now sending a representative to my home to inspect it.Areas of complaint are:1. No written contract as required by law.2. The product was not the correct product for my needs. No written description of the maintenance needs of the product were provided since its normally used in commercial settings.It required 5-6 layers of acrylic floor covering and machine buffing as a separate cost and routine maintenance step I was not informed of.4. Some tiles lifted, some stuck, some cracked. Licensed flooring and general contractors have indicated the VCT has to be completely removed since it was the wrong product, incorrectly installed due to home temperature, over a an uneven sub floor that may contain asbestos.5.We have a well documented claim that this installation was not done correctly and after six months the bond company, HCC Surety Group is still giving us the run around and saying they are swamped with claims. We have jumped through all the hoops and are looking for other avenues of recourse.Desired Settlement: All the VCT flooring needs to be taken up possible by an asbestos contractor since its stuck to the existing sub floor.The removed VCT and sub-flooring that will come with it need to disposed of properly.The removed sub floor needs to be replaced.A floor product that is appropriate for the needs of my home(e.g. Sheet vinyl) needs to be professional replaced according to the manufactures directions.If the flooring does contain asbestos, I and my pets must be adequately protected from harm.

Currently I see no obstacles to arbitration between the Revdex.com, Ms. [redacted], and myself.
