I received your complaint in regards to Ms [redacted] Based on Ms [redacted] s’s complaintshe appears to be confusing our service with the Homestead Tax Exemption Our company helps homeowner’s prepare for theDesignation of Homestead which is an optional filing for a protection of the homeowner’s equity not the tax exemptionThis filing is completed at their county recorder’s office not the tax assessor’s office When Ms [redacted] scontacted her appraisal district they of course would say we didn’t file her tax exemption because that is not the service we provide Our form and website explain this several times in bold, large font so as to not confuse homeowners We have included a copy of the solicitation Ms [redacted] received for her review I am sorry Ms [redacted] did not fully understand the information she read about our service Ifshe had contacted us at our toll free number we could have explained our service and or taken care of her refund immediately We will be sending Ms [redacted] a refund of $on 5/13/ If you have any questions in regards to our services, feel free to contact our office at ###-###-####

The refund for Mr [redacted] was processed as stated in our earlier response It takes up to days for his refund to show up on his credit card statement Based on Mr [redacted] ' second response he still hasn't fully read our solicitation We state in large, bold faced, that we are not a government entity, our service is optional and that our company does not file the Homestead ExemptionThis is something our competitors do not do.We offer two services both being optional The second letter that Mr [redacted] received was for an optional filing service for his Designation of Homestead This service is offered as a convenience to customers In order to complete the Designation of Homestead process the homeowner must file their paperwork with the county recorder's office not the tax assessors Most people don't have the time to drive to the county office that is why we offer the service of filing the document for them We charge $to do this From this $we pay the county recording fee of $to $and the additional monies is for our time to take care of the filing.I know that Mr [redacted] has his mind made up about our company and unfortunately can't do anymore than give him the refund he has already received

The refund was submitted yesterday to his credit card processing takes to business days for any refund to be processed by any bank or credit card company

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: this company still doing advertisement, they should not mail people to be begin withI want my name out of their company at all and as a new homeownwer I should have investigate more, or call but I am working full time, and I have family to take care ofI personally think I got taken advantage of people like their companysending mails to per say helpbut really they dontI am a first time homeowner and I didnt expect people will be this cruelI do not have a lot of money to be giving away to be begin with my intention of sending money is for the betterment of my homestead application and not get fooled by themmy point is application for homestead exemption is free and why would they send mails like thatthey need to stopIf they really want to help...they should place the special instructions BOLDED and BIG PRINT stating their intentions and not in the very last part of the form and not even highlightedand also do not add if you dont pay buck we wont do the applicationTo be honest, I turn in the paper because I thought because it is mandated by the governmentWhich is true but you can do it FREE!!! I want this to settle by getting my money back and I want my name out of their mailing list please!!!! Regards, [redacted]

I am sorry Mr [redacted] was unclear on the difference in our service and the homestead tax exemption I wish Mr [redacted] took advantage of the toll free number we offer to our customers to ask any questions he may have had I am sure this would have cleared up any issues We will go ahead and mail Mr [redacted] a refund check in today's mail.Thanks

Thanks for your inquiry on Mr [redacted] We in fact received Mr [redacted] request for the Designation of Homestead on January 30, At that time we mailed him his Designation of Homestead form which he would need to sign in front of a notary and have filed at his county clerk’s office If Mr [redacted] did not receive his Homestead document in the mail we can mail him another immediately Please let us know if this is the case Because of this mwe have gone ahead and refunded Mr [redacted] credit card used to sign up for the service

Thank you for the inquiry from Ms*** Included with our response is a copy of the solicitation that Ms [redacted] received from our company Our solicitation along with our website which Ms [redacted] used states several times in bold large font that we do not prepare a homeowner’s tax exemption which she states is the service we were providing This information is located on our solicitation, website as well as our phone message so that a potential customer will not get confused As requested a refund in the amount of $has been credited back to the card Ms [redacted] used to sign up for the service She should see this credit in to business days We realize Ms [redacted] has concerns with our company, but Homestead Recording Service has been in business and using the same form for over years in the state of Texas This form has only changed due to modifications that were required by Texas State Statutes Our form unlike our competitors uses large font, bold lettering, offer a toll free number, have a pre-recorded message to assist customer hours a day days a week and have a 100% customer satisfaction policy We are sorry Ms [redacted] was confused
