First, a little background info: • I had bi-lateral hip replacement in Feb'and May' Both surgeries were performed at Barnes Hospital, in the city of StLouis • Five weeks later, on or about 11-Jun-18, I became very sick It was a weekend, around midnight, when my wife drove me to a sub-urban emergency room Barnes West County Hospital (BWCS is a small sub-urban satellite hospital of the far larger Barnes Hospital in the City of StLouis.) • While at the ER it was determined that I was severely de-hydrated and my kidney function was not normal More concerning was a Cellulitis infection -- hovering over the incision site of my more recent hip replacement • Due to the implications of that infection traversing into the artificial hip, the doctors decided I needed to be transferred to the much larger Barnes Hospital where they were better equipped and resourced to evaluate, and if necessary, respond to an infection within the artificial joint • In preparing for the
