I used Mercury Service based on a [redacted] search in order to comply with a provincial requirement to accomplish a motorcycle "safety inspection" in order to get license plates and insurance (i.e. I moved to SK from ON). The standard fee for a vehicle inspection is approx. $135.00 CAD. While I was away on business in Ontario, I received a telephone call stating that my tires would not pass the safety inspection. I was also advised that the replacement tires were $280 for the rear and $250 for the front. Even though it is not likely that both tires were worn beyond safety standards (considering rear tire wear is 4-5 times greater than front tire wear and I replaced the front tire last year, I agreed to the replacement tires in good faith. I also required a new front head lamp ($15). When I came in to retrieve my motorcycle, which had been in the shop from 26 Aug until 9 Sep 15, I was presented with a bill for over $1000.00 CAD. I queried the invoice and was told that each tire cost $120.00 to mount. Since I had never been informed of the cost of mounting I was taken aback and asked to talk to a manager. [redacted], the service manager came fwd and was immediately aggressive. [redacted] I finally told him to stop being aggressive with me or I would be aggressive with him. He told me to pay my bill and get out.
