After a lengthy insurance claim on a watercraft they decided to charge a storage fee for the entire time they had the boat there to do their inspection. Which we found out after they never did. They are holding it ransom until they get $2000 in storage fees. Insurance company won't pay the storage chargers because they say it's never been a issue before.
Just want my property back
Customer brought in boat for estimate on Feb.3/16 We did estimate and contacted insurance company with details. Insurance company told us the customer did not have any coverage and they would not pay for any repairs. Customer was informed and chose to leave his boat here for over 2 years. As per the service consent form he signed when dropping off unit for work - it states that regular storage charges will apply to any units not picked up.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I spoke with the insurance company they said they never spoke to this business about coverage also said they don't pay storage while claims are negotiated
We have phone records that confirm communication with both insurance company and the customer in Feb. & March 2016. The storage fees are the responsibility of the owner who left boat here for over 2 years.
