This is in response to Revdex.com complaint # In order to prepare an accurate response America’s Preferred Home Warranty Customer Care Department has reviewed the claim, recorded calls and any other information availableThe Supreme Home Warranty Agreement provides a three-step process for
claimsThe first is to call APHW to report the claimAPHW provides a claim number and explains the processThe second is the homeowner calls the licensed contractor of their choosingWhen the contractor has diagnosed the problem; but before any work is done, the contractor (or the contractor and homeowner) call APHW for approval. The third is APHW makes a determination and sets up paymentThe terms and conditions of the Supreme Home Warranty Service Agreement (copy attached) clearly states “…there is no payment or reimbursement without prior approval.” During the opening call the customer service representative advised the homeowner that we would need to speak to the contractor prior to repairs being doneThe homeowner did not do thatFurthermore, the homeowner has not provided APHW with a copy of the repair receiptIn this case, notwithstanding the fact that our denial was absolutely consistent with the warranty, we are willing to make an exception, as a goodwill gestureWe have contacted the customer and requested a copy of the repair receiptReimbursement for covered repairs will be processed when a paid receipt is receivedWe thank the Revdex.com for its efforts on behalf of consumers, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond to the complaintAmerica’s Preferred Home Warranty, Inc

America’s Preferred Home Warranty’s Customer Care Department has
reviewed the claim; information provided and recorded calls for accuracy
Freon recovery and leak test are not covered under the home warranty agreement
the homeowner has. It does look at
repair of leaks when there is a diagnosis from a licensed contractorWe do not receive a diagnosis from the homeowner’s
contractor as to which component of the system is leaking
The customer was contacted by
Customer Care on 7/21/2015, where a second opinion has been ordered at our cost
in order to get a diagnosis on which component of the system is leaking to make
a determination on coverage and to go over what is covered under that home
warranty agreement

I will wait for the business to perform this action I would appreciate something in writing from what I was told and understood on the phone though. From my understanding after talking with *** " who was very friendly, professional, and helpful" that they are getting a second opinion which I was told involves the dye test procedure which is roughly around $to be completed to see if the leak is coming from and to have this issue fixed so will not be an ongoing issue. No leak testing has been performed as of yet on this system since I have purchased the house with the warranty. If this is the action the business is taking then I will be very satisfied and consider this complaint closed and very appreciated. Thank you *** for your courtesy in this ***er and professionalism.

allows homeowners to choose a licensed contractor of their choosing to make repairs after opening a claim and obtaining prior approval from APHW.  We attempt to pay homeowner’s contractors any approved amount by credit card on approved claims if the contractors agree to receive payment from us directly.   After review, the customer was contacted by our Customer Care Team on January 27th, 2016, in an effort to assist the homeowner in locating a contractor to complete the needed repairs and accept payment from APHW by credit card.  The appointment is scheduled and APHW has made arrangements to pay the contractor directly.   We thank the Revdex.com for its efforts on behalf of consumers and we appreciate the opportunity to respond to the complaint.   America’s Preferred Home Warranty

this claim and all corresponding paperwork
The home owner is requesting payment in the
amount of $towards the purchase and installation of his new air
conditioning unit. APHW will reimburse
the home owner once we receive the requested invoice for purchase and
installation of the AC unit. Current
paperwork supplied by the home owner does not contain that information. If home owner would supply contractor's name,
APHW will be more than happy to contact them, obtain a copy of the receipt so
that we may process the payment to the homeowner

The terms and...

conditions of the Supreme Home Warranty Service Agreement (copy attached) clearly states that it “does not cover everything,”. The warranty also states that it covers only those items which are specified as “Covered” on the page titled “What Items are Covered?” Per the homeowner’s contractor diagnosis, the leak was not related to the roof, but was instead an issue having to do with the siding and flashing around the bedroom window, located on the front wall of the house approximately 6’above ground.  The home warranty does not cover the structure of the home, with the exception of a roof leak, located over the primary living area. Based on the information provided the by the contractor, and according to the terms and conditions of the home warranty service agreement we are not able to assist with this claim.
