completely renovated and all of the appliances were brand new (see attached move-in inspection and the move-in punch list).   After residing in the apartment for 12-months they decided to move-out and surrendered the apartment and vacated the premises on 6/30/16.   Upon move-out the apartment was inspected on 7/2/16 by the maintenance department and they listed several items including a damaged cooktop and took pictures (see attached move-out inspection form and pictures of the damaged cooktop).   The cooktop had been damaged during their residency period and we are simply holding them responsible for the charges as allowed per the lease agreement. Please find the attached documentation in support of the disputed decision to replace the damaged cooktop.  I have attached a copy of their lease agreement where Section #32 states in summary that the residents agree to be liable for all costs to repair all damages to their apartment.  I have attached a copy of the Move-in inspection form and Move-in Punch List where they indicate the condition of the apartment areas at move-in (indicating that nothing was damaged or marred).  I have attached a copy of their move-out letter where it lists the potential charges in the event that their move-out inspection results in damage charges (where it lists the replacement costs).  Lastly I have attached a copy of the move-out inspection performed by our maintenance department and included the pictures of the damaged cooktop.  Please let me know if you need anything else. Sincerely,Paige Paige H[redacted]General ManagerMeridian at Courthouse Commons1401 N.  Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:There is no way to guarantee the picture they submitted was of our cooktop. We did a walk through with one of their staff prior to leaving, and no damage was seen or remarked on.I wish I had looked up this company on [redacted] prior to leasing, as now I see why their reviews are so low.
Regards,
[redacted]
