WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Worked with the Mount Laurel office for a 203k loan and the Northfield, NJ office for the mortgage. Both offices were horrible with communication. At one point, the 203k guy was unresponsive to us (the clients) and the other Meridian office for over a week as we got close to our settlement date. Come to find out, the guy had a toe amputated and was out on medical with no one left in his place. Once back, the 203k rep was requesting that we have a consultant come out even though the work was non-structural and under $15k. Meridian's instance led us to contact the HUD for clarification. Had we not done so, we would have ended up wasting $3k+ on the consultant in addition to anything else that the consultant could have pointed out during the inspection. I can't count the amount of times that we had to resend duplicate documents of documents already sent since the person handling the file went out on maternity leave without, I guess, printing the personal docs from her email that we had sent her. In the midst of all of the chaos, certificates began to expire causing us to have to make arrangements 24 hours before our closing date because the paperwork had not been revised until the last minute. Needless to say, closing was moved (again) because the settlement package took 3 1/2 weeks to finalize. We thought it was easy riding after we closed but we were wrong. Our work has started and our 203k rep has since resigned. We have yet to be assigned a new 203k rep to handle the initial disbursement . We have been emailing the mortgage guy to get answers but he has no answers for us. At this time, we are afraid that this is going to be a problem once the work is completed.
I showed the emails to friends and family to prove to them and myself that I was not going crazy. Holding on to those.
