The wait times are a complete jokeThere billing is a disaster as they even say on there phoneStay away at all costs!

By far the worst experience I have ever had with a health insurance organizationI paid the initial premium before the January deadline but did not receive my membership documentation until a month laterAs a result, I was unable to even log in to the member portal to find a physicianIt is impossible to reach Meritus by phone--a call to its customer service number gets you nothing but a lengthy apology from CEO Tom Z [redacted] about understaffingMeritus also does not reply to messages sent to its customer service e-mail addressThe only way I've ever been able to get a response from this organization has been to post my frustration on its [redacted] pageAdditionally, the claims section of their member portal doesn't appear to be updated for weeks at a timeIt's almost as if nobody actually works thereFinally, Meritus does not respond in a timely manner to requests for authorization from healthcare providersI need an MRI for a shoulder that is falling apart like an overcooked pot roast, but an appointment with the only medical imaging company that will take their insurance was cancelled because Meritus did not provide authorization in a timely mannerFrom what I've read, this organization got a $million loan from the federal government to set up shop on the Affordable Healthcare Act's federal exchangeMy question: what happened to that money? It certainly wasn't spent on staffingI support healthcare reform, including the ACA, but experiences like this unfairly give reform a black eyeSave yourself the frustration of dealing with an organization that is failing miserably at the art of customer service and choose another option for your health insurance

8:23amWe reached out to the Customer Care Agent and she stated she has no record of Mr*** ever emailing her back the formIn addition, we confirmed with our Enrollment Department that we have no record of ever having received a cancelation form for this members policy. Ultimately his policy was terminated for non-payment with a term date of 4/30/Our Finance Department did confirm that payments for Mr*** were retracted by the bank and therefore he does not have a payment on file for the months of April and MayWe have updated his term date to April 1,as of today August 20, per the members request

This is the worst insurance I have ever had When you call you are on hold for over an hour When you send an email it takes days and days to get a responseThere website lists Doctors they say accept the insurance and when you call to try and schedule an appointment the office tells you no they do not accept the insurance This happened with every OBGYN on my plan

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. This information has been compiled along with the emails sent by your agent for use in the future should you move forward with your threat made via letter in August to collect two months worth of premiums. If this information shows up on my credit report at any time, appropriate legal actions will be taken. Copies of the letter you have sent as well as the emails your agent indicates never were sent, have been provided to the state insurance board as well.
Regards,

Worst health insurance company ever!!! I pay over $400 a month for my insurance through Meritus and I receive sub par service. For $400 a month I get to go to CLINICS and [redacted] as my OBGYN. Really? Those services are very low cost or practically free anyway. Why am I paying monthly for it?? Also, I was given a Provider Directory with a few doctors on it that I was willing to go to- doctors with a normal doctors office that doesn't feel like you are waiting in line at the [redacted]. Guess what? I called to set up an appointment and they told me that they do not accept Meritus' insurance and they have tried for several months to be removed off of the provider directory to no avail. This company is fraudulent! I am cancelling my policy and I want my payments back for the last 3 months in which I regrettably paid but refused go to go a clinic for my yearly exam. Finally, I took my daughter to the [redacted] back in February (it is almost May now) and I know that the [redacted] is covered with just a co-pay under my plan. I received a bill from [redacted] for the full amount. So, I called Meritus (and waited 56 minutes to speak to someone) to let them know that I received a full bill. They said they would take care of it for me, but I received another bill a few days ago...still the full amount. I called [redacted] customer service and they said they have not been contacted by Meritus since February when they denied my initial insurance billing. Horrible Horrible company!! Do not use them. If I don't receive my past payments back in full I will be filing an official complaint against them. We will see how this goes...
Furthermore, the other person that left a review is 100% correct. Despicable!

From what I've read, this organization got a $93 million loan from the federal government to set up shop on the Affordable Healthcare Act's federal exchange. My question: what happened to that money? It certainly wasn't spent on staffing. I support healthcare reform, including the ACA, but experiences like this unfairly give reform a black eye.
