Dear [redacted]:We are sorry that the [redacted] fees the way they do. However, Merrifield must get paid in full before we go out and perform additional work which might be biliable. As I mentioned in the first letter, while the lighting fixtures have a life time guarantee, any issue involving a tripped GFI or a broken light bulb would require payment. Again, as was evident in the emails between the [redacted] and our designer, there was never any mention of outstanding plant or lighting issues UNTIL the [redacted] were contacted by our attorney for payment.I would be more than happy to go out to their home and address any issues once their account is paid in full.

I am responding to the complaint (ID#[redacted]) from [redacted] regarding an outdoor lighting system that Merrifield installed in March 2014.
Our licensed electrician, [redacted]., went out and fixed a few problems when the issue came to our attention last...

year, The invoice for the job was mailed and the [redacted] paid the invoice in full and at the time all outstanding issues had been addressed. Not until the [redacted] contacted Sharon Ross this week did we know that there were any outstanding issues with the lighting system. As you can see from the attached emails between the [redacted] and Ms. R[redacted], there was never any mention of additional lighting problems.The [redacted] owe Merrifield Garden Center $3993.25 from an invoice sent to them in September of 2014 that they have not paid despite many attempts by our accounting office to get this balance paid. I have attached the collection messages documenting this effort. In fact we recently had our corporate attorney send the [redacted] a letter demanding payment. It was not until the [redacted] received this letter did we hear about this lighting issue. Ms. Ross informed the [redacted] we would be more than happy to come out and inspect the system again but we must have their account paid in full before we can continue to do work for them.
Merrifield Garden Center uses quality products and we guarantee all of our work for a specific period of time. Mr. Nelson has reminded me that the lighting fixtures installed at the [redacted] has a lifetime guararitee on the material so if there is any problem with the product, Merrifield can replace the parts at no cost, Mr. Nelson believes that the problem might be that the GFI has been tripped and that the [redacted] have been in Europe for a length of time and might not realize that this could be the problem.
The [redacted] have been long standing customers with our company. We wish to continue to do business with the [redacted] but we must have their account paid in full before going out again to their home.
