Merrill Ranch Family Dental

A person who I met gave me a "We love to see you Smile" Merrill Ranch Family Dental $Gift Certificate Card to become a new Patient ,as her and her husband are patients there and recommend them.I then tried to make an appointment with the dentist office over the phone for a teeth cleaning in or around the third week of March and they were booked up till (April20) three days after I was going to be going back to [redacted] (April17) till next fall.I left the receptionist with my name and number and had said if there was a cancellation and they could fit me that would be greatThe first time visit I was told was x-rays,exam and cleaning for $and after that they would be $79.99.I told her I had this gift card and she told me at that time she was not sure what the card I had was but to bring it when I do get a appointment ,they might honour it but wasn't sure.I received a phone call on March 31that there was a cancellation and they was a time for 8am April 1st I said great I will be there.I went in and was asked if I had insurance(I said no) and to fill out new patient forms(5pages), and was also told the fee again ($59.99) I showed the girl at the front desk when handing the filled out forms to her the gift card I had and was told they no longer accept those,I said oh , ok.My name was called after sitting in the waiting area for a few minutes and I was taken for x-rays then to another room for a probing with a little instrument to measure all the gums around every tooth.After that exam I was told I had issues(pockets ,little bone loss,deep low plaque build up at bottom of teeth in-between gum and teeth) and really needed a deep clean that involves a bit more then regular cleaning.I asked for info on the deep cleaning,what that involves as well as cost.She said she would go get the girl up front to put that info together for me and explain it to me .She told me the Dentist will be coming in to view my mouth and x-rays ,which He did step in for a moment then said they will look at x-rays which they did and maybe he looked at her notes as well ,not sure.Then they both came in and the Dentist asked me if everything is ok? any issues I had said I'm fine ,everything is ok but I am having hot flashes ,being funny I guess.Anyway he went over my mouth and said numbers and his finding out loud as the lady wrote down more notes.He then left and she took me to a little office room beside reception area and the other lady went over the deep cleaning info and costs (which she moved the price around a few times lower )with me and wanted me to sign the paper work(I didn't sign ).I was sorta shocked at the cost and did not have my glasses on to really see or go over it and decided for now I would just have regular cleaning done and I would like to go over this and talk to my husband and maybe do it when I come back in November.This lady made a couple attempts for me to sign the papers saying Im just signing that I acknowledge the price and dental work that I neededI thanked her for gathering the information for me and asked if I could take a copy.She said that fine as she hand wrote some notes on it and she left the room to go photo copy the two papers so I can have a copy.She came back into the room and said that will be $today.I said I haven't had my teeth cleaned yet and she said oh and got up and went out to reception(I followed her out there) and she said to them Wanda hasn't had her teeth cleaned yet , I was so surprised as we just talked about the(cost)plus the what/if/when's this could be done I thought apposed to a regular clean .The deep which she had said they could do in the two appointments and since I'm leaving I could do the follow up back at home.I then turned to go down the hall back to the room where I was ,where my purse was and the Dentist was standing straight ahead and I looked at him in somewhat shock,confusion asking where I go for my cleaning?Around the same time I looked away to the room where the x-ray lady/hygienist was and my purse on counter and seen another patient in there with her ,I looked back at him and he said are you having a hot flash? I said no my purse is in there.He grabbed it and handed it to me and said come with me.He proceeded to take me into the same office up front by reception and sat me down .I was shocked what he had said to me about my hot flash and was wondering what was going on.And went on to say to me that were done here for today,I'm not getting a cleaning as I need more then just a regular.I was so shocked and tried to explain that my appointment was for X-rays,exam and a cleaning.He told me to calm down and asked me a couple times why I don't understand what he's saying.I was so shocked at what was going on I asked if this was really happening??? It was so bizarre to say the least.In all my years of going to a dentist for a service I have never been given part of what I made the appointment for and asked for full price.Or to sign for a dental quote .I was so upset and felt because I was leaving for canada and did not agree or sign on the dotted line for a &deep cleaning they didn't want to bother finishing off my appointment for a teeth cleaning.My whole reasoning for this appointment was to have my teeth cleaned as I do this once every six months and to have x-rays and an exam also for a $fee was a bonus.I just had x-rays ,exam and a cleaning in October so it was the cleaning that I thought for that price I would do here and not back at home to save money.He made it clear he wasn't cleaning my teeth,there is no point, I said Im not paying$for what I didn't get.As I was walking out I also said to to lady who tried to get me to sign those papers that I will let the community know what happened here and I won't be coming back and will not be one of their clientsIts funny how they couldn't get me in for a appointment till April th (but did after all ) but today told me they could get me in two times for part of the deep cleaning process for roughly $before I leave in days from now.Pretty bad way to run a business.If anyone asks me if I have been there I will make sure I tell them what I still can't rap my head around!Lastly If he thinks its a waste of time to clean my teeth after months(my last cleaning,a regular clean) then should I not even bother to brush either? I think me still doing that on a regular basis will help prevent issues then not ,what message is he really saying?? clean deep or don't bother?
