I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
merryman's service needs to stop servicing ac units since they can not do so properly they certainly did not do my system properlythis business has numerous auto auctions monthly on prior customer vehicles who were dissatisfied with the work performed so they refused to pay the business is in the practice of telling customers that they will perform certain services then doing whatever service they wish and charging more for it and making excuses to cover the cost increasesthey certainly fooled me into thinking they were going to vacuum test my ac system then all they did was drain and fill the system I know they did not vacuum test my ac as on the receipt they state they did not know if the system had any leaks and I must return in a few days to have this checked and also the vacuum testing for leaks takes more time to perform than they had my truck in their shop I will be passing word in my community about the service or lack of I received at this establishment this post is warning to future customers to require written up front exact services to be performed as this company will say one thing then do another and without the prior approval of you in writing then you will be obligated to pay or they will put a lien on your title and eventually repossess your vehicle for auction sales.Best regards,

To whom it may concern: Thank you for the opportunity to reply to the recent letter we received from your office. We value our reputation and hope we can come to a successful resolution for all parties involved. After interviewing the persons involved and pulling the records of
said incident we would like to respond to the complaint(s) filed by Mr***. Mr*** came to our place of business with a complaint that his air conditioning system on his *** *** *** Pickup Truck was blowing hot airWe explained to him that his system would need to be serviced with our AC machine to see if it had any obvious leaks, or was low on FreonHis vehicle was then placed on our SPX Robinair Cooltech 34700Z automated AC machineThe machine automatically evacuates the AC system drawing a vacuum, tests for leaks (which the machine did not detect) and fills the AC system with the appropriate amount of Freon and dyeMr, ***'s vehicle was showing an AC system that was very low on the required amount of FreonWith no leaks being detected at the time of testing, the AC machine charged his system to the required ouncesWe re-checked the amount of Freon needed prior to the writing of this letter to verify the correct amount with our AllData Service Software. Upon paying and leaving, Mr*** returned a short time later stating his system was blowing hot againUpon investigation, our service technician found that a rubber hose in the AC system had burst after he had leftThere is no way of detecting a hose that has deteriorated over time as they typically wear from the inside outIt is not uncommon for this to occur, especially on older vehiclesThe hose was not leaking during the test cycle as the machine would have advised of a leak prior to re-charging the system. We like to also dispute our practices as being economically unsound or environmentally unsoundWe only use the above mentioned system and it has been a very sound method economically and environmentallyI'm sure a majority of the shops use this system or one very similarAll of our charges are explained prior to service and no work is performed without the customer's agreement. Unfortunately we have no control over what we cannot see or detectWe certainly will stand behind our work and any products or services we offerWe have been in business in the City for over years and we want to continue to serve this community with a fair and honest productIt is not the mission of our business, owner, or employees to conduct dishonest or unfair business practices.
