I am a Colorado resident. The day before Colorado was put on a stay-at-home order, I had contacted Mesa Fitness, where I have a gym membership to ask if we were going to be charged monthly fees of $25 on March 29th, despite the gym being closed for one to two months starting on March 16th, to which I was informed we would not. My gym membership is due on the 29th of each month. Fast forward to the 17th of April. Mesa Fitness proceeds to charge my account $54, my monthly fee for the 29th of March PLUS a late fee. I reached out to Mesa Fitness, demanding a refund. They stated they tried to email patrons (Not address the situation on Social Media, not call members) about billing customers for the following month, citing "there is nothing they can do about it". Other area gyms, including corporate model Planet Fitness flat out waived membership fees. They told me, despite my insistance for an immediate refund, that it would take 3-5 business days. I gave them the alloted time; no refund. On April 22nd, I emailed them asking about the status of my refund. Did not hear nothing from them until April 23rd, at which point they tried to state they were waiting for a response from me whether I wanted a refund. In the opening email I demanded a refund. Now they are saying they are willing to refund me, but will charge me again on April 29th. Again, their gym will not be open until May 15th, AT THE EARLIEST, and they are attempting to collect fees for a service they are unable to provide service for. This is in direct violation of their contract. I not only am requesting my money back, but that the Revdex.com look into this issue further, and determine if they were in violation of other member's trust.

Hello ***, I'm reaching out in response to the above complaint ID for ***. He was charged in error, as we shut billing off after our business was closed due to COVID-19. Member emailed us on April 17th at 10:34am and we responded apologizing for the inconvenience and asked if he would prefer a refund or a credit on April 17th at 11:08am. He did not respond back until April 22nd stating he wanted a refund. We processed the refund April 23rd when we were back in the office and canceled his membership with no additional charge.
