Dear Ms. [redacted]I am responding to the complaint sent to you by Mrs. [redacted]. Mrs. [redacted] was unable to reach us to obtain dental records for her children. My dental office was closed on January 29, 2016. This was because I sustained a broken neck in a fall at home. Since January I have had two...

major surgeries. It has been very difficult to address all of the issues remaining. I am no longer able to practice pediatric dentistry as I did in the past. I have worked through the State and individually to try to bring another pediatric dentist into Indiana. Regrettably, at present, there is no interest. I have offered to train and supervise general dentists with experience to take over my offices. The insurance companies have made this impossible. I am working with a large pediatric dental group from eastern Pennsylvania to move into western Pennsylvania and to take over the practice. However, this will not happen in the near future.Regarding patient records, our main office number, ###-###-#### was to be maintained by [redacted] Dental in Greensburg, PA. This office took over all of our Greensburg charts and the responsibility for this phone number. I assume that most of our patients had this number, I have now learned that that number is no longer in service. My second office number, ###-###-#### and my home number ###-###-#### are in service but apparently are no longer available through the internet. My home number is available in the white pages but the white pages are no longer distributed except upon request. I can be contacted readily through the Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA). I would assume a dentist accepting Ms. [redacted]’ children for care would contact us through the PDA. Obviously this did not happen.I have called Mrs. [redacted] and left a message for her to return my call. I have given her both my home phone number and cell phone number. When she returns my call, I will apologize to her because she was not able to contact me. I will forward copies of appropriate records to her at no charge. 1 will also try to get my office phone number(###-###-####) on the internet. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
