Met Monitoring Reasearch Group (subsidary of metavante corp)

I recently had a mysterious charge of $745.00 show up in my bill pay section of my bank. In trying to stop the process, I was told that it could not be done. The charge failed and I was charged a $25.00 fee by my bank. I told the representative that the mysterious payment was bogus and that it needed to be stopped. However, the mysterious charge showed back up and was attempted to be processed again. Again, it failed and I was charged another $25.00 fee. I thought that this was the end of everything. However, approximately 1 week later, I was sent a notice from a collection agency saying I owed $745.00 for electronic processing. In trying to contact the processing, low and behold, their web site does not work and they do no have any telephone numbers published. In asking for their number from the bank, or the collection service, they said that they are unable to provide any way to contact them. So, my only resort was to pay the bill to avoid it going to collections and then o my credit report. I find this whole process extremely secretive and underhanded. It is almost like a cartel where they intentionally cause people financial harm and then hide behind banks and credit agencies so they do not have to face the people they are harming. As a result of all of this, I will be closing my accounts with the bank I am doing business with and hope that Metavante goes out of business for their criminal business practices. On a satisfaction scale, the rate a negative 10!
