Review: Payed and ordered 3000 dollar a frame metal car port building and it collapsed on my Mercedes and my 4 wheeler, and the president acts like he does not care and did not even want to answer his phone or come clean up or help get out my property.

He acts like he doesn't care and was not wanting to even come look at what caused it. We found many places where races were missing and cheap metal broke from welds, which he advertises he uses the best steel. He kept saying well I order them pre built so it is what it is. He a cheat and theft not worth working with.Desired Settlement: Fix my property and clean up the mess, refund my money for his cheap crap and never deal with him again.

We received an unusual amount of snow on February the 12th and 13th for our area. Around 18'' to 24'' reported in our area of the region and an additional 3'' to 5'' the evening of the 13th. Augusta County has the highest snow load requirements in Virginia. The load requirements were increased again last year. Customers are instructed to get permits for approval and inspections.

I was called at my unlisted home number on February the 14th at 3:21p.m. and I did apologize for his misfortune and was no way rude. He demanded I come look at the building and remove it immediately.

I personally was closed from 2/13/14 and reopened 2/17/14 due to non driveable conditions. There were repeated messages from him and his wife and an email when I did make it into work on the 17th.

I am a Class A contractor and have never had a structure collapse. Again, I am deeply sorry his structure collapsed. I would hope his home owners insurance would handle any losses.

I hope this settles this issue with the Revdex.com.

Sincerely,

Ron Kiser

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The owner Ron kiser told me that building was rated to hold over 36 inches of snow, with stand 155 mile an winds, the contract he gave me said the anchors would augured, and in fact 1 inch rebar was sled hammered into ground in my presence, the door the first time the doors to pull in were so small my wife could not even get her Mercedes in it, I called which I have phone records over 3 months for him to come fix the problem, got no answer, had to email and threaten to call Revdex.com before he sent crew out the second time, first doorways measured 7 foot 10, both by the plans showed they were suppose to be 9 foot, the second time guy shows up cuts more chunks off door way leaves rebar anchor exposed, and only opened it to 8 4 which still wasn't right, trying to get him to fix it, he ignored every call, when snow came down we had less than 17 inches, I called because my wife's car and my 4 four wheeler were trapped and I asked him to send a crew that new how it was built to come out safely remove it so we could get our stuff out, his comment it is what is that building will withstand 155 mile an winds and I m not coming out , that's what insurance is for. He said he couldn't get out at the time I reached him at home I was sitting in his company parking lot expecting a descent contractor to come help a customer, and thought he wanted and needed to know since he never had one fall, what caused a A frame over 3000 dollar building to collapse in the center. I got nothing he hung up phone.

I am sorry the customers building fell down. I did not hang up on him or ignore his calls. I am glad no one was hurt. God sent an unusual amount of heavy snow our way.

I would like my money back that I paid in full for my building plus my insurance deductable and it was only 17 inches of snow we get more snow every year, my neighbor has a 500 dollar carport that's 10 years old and it held fine, my $3000 plus 2 car building less than 2 years old falls, very bad workman ship, and a contractor who should accept responsibility for crappy workmanship, he just took my money and is now trying to get out of the responsibility.

Review: I originally received an estimate for metal roof materials for my home in the amount of $2200 for top of the line metal roof. My roofer ordered the materials and when I went to pay the amount went up to $2800. Then when the roofer was installing the roof we were short by half the roof material needed and I wound up having to spend another $650 to get the material needed to finish the job plus time and gas to go get it. In summation the original budgeted cost was $2200 and we wound up spending almost $3500! That seems like a bate and switch operation to me. We are very disappointed and angry at this and demand something be done to stop this type of treatment and we deserve restitution!Desired Settlement: We should receive a refund for the outrageous over charged amount not to mention time, gas and frustration.

We are a metal roofing and supplies center. I do rough quotes based on a normal style home with basic straight runs that include all of the metal, trims, fasteners. This customer had me quote 12 squares of roof with an Energy Star (Ultra PVF) Kynar painted system on a 29gauge galvalume substrait panel. The total cost should have been in the neighborhood of $2,200.00 as the customer states. The roofer supplied me with his materials list for the job which I priced. It included extra supplies needed including (2) 18' valleys, emseal not to leak, (180') of vent ridge, Dektites for pipes and (51) snow birds. That cost was $2,800.00. The roofer and customer showed up together. The materials list was reviewed at that time and paid for by the customer with check # [redacted] for $2,800.00. He recieved invoice # [redacted] and factory warranty papers. Several weeks later the roofer was short one side of the roof. Upon review, the additional materials were not on the list, which would make this a 17.5 square roof. No extra materials have been ordered by the roofer or his customer from me to date. As far as bate and switch I am emailing the end customer another copy of his warranty papers on the Ultra PVF Kynar 500 paint system that he paid for and received from me with his job reference number from the manufacturer for future reference. Any paint warranties are solely up to the manufacturer. In conclusion it is ultimately up to the roofer and or the customer to make sure the materials ordered are correct. The installer is the one that measures and installs all of the materials for the job. The installer on this particular job has since stated he paid for the mistake and the job is finished, We supplied only the materials originally requested and do not feel we should be liable for the $1,250.00 requested.

Regards,

[redacted] At first visit I had asked for a price for my roof on our home and my exact words were, "I am not sure the size of the roof but the house is a 1300 square foot ranch style house with a 3:12 pitch". I have no idea why I was given a price for 12 square of roofing material and that was not explained to me at that time. I also saw the order from the roofer and the measurements which were the correct amounts and there was no way of knowing it was wrong until it was installed. The phone call after finding this out was less than productive and [redacted] had no interest in fixing the problem or offering a solution and wanted to charge almost $700 more for the rest of the material that was needed to finish the half done roof and we would have to wait over a week to get it! The frustrated roofer decided to order the material from another vendor stating that [redacted] had done this same thing to him on other jobs and he was not dealing with this business anymore.[redacted] also told us if we upgrade to the better, more expensive material we would get a $500 rebate along with a tax credit but again we were misinformed and there is no rebate and the tax credit is only 10% of the cost of material. The roofer was also upset about this since he had sold this material to customers under that same pretense because that was how [redacted] presented it to him as well. All this said I we would never do business with these people again and wish we never had! I only budgeted enough funds to do this roof according to what I was quoted and had to use credit cards to finish the job. These lies and deceitful business practices are awful and hurt good people and need to be stopped!
