We received a phone call from Mrs. [redacted] in August of this year in regards to the service call that took place at her home on June 24, 2014.  She indicated that we installed an incorrect size capacitor causing the condenser fan motor to fail.  I advised Mrs. [redacted] that I would send a...

technician to her home immediately, but she declined stating that a friend took care of it for her and she wanted her money back.  I explained to her at that time that it would be placed under review and we would be back in contact with her.  After the review of the signed invoice of the work performed at her residence, Mrs. [redacted] was contacted and was advised that the technician had replaced an existing failed 7.5 capacitor with a new 7.5 capacitor.  Mrs. [redacted] then indicated that she had pictures that show the failed motor and capacitor and would send them to us.  The pictures were not received and we did not have anymore contact with Mrs. [redacted], therefore believing that this was resolved.  I then received a call from Mr. [redacted] and he was upset that no one had been in contact with his wife in regards to what action would take place.  I explained to him that contact had been made with Mrs. [redacted] and we explained our conclusion based off of the signed invoice from our service call.  I also explained to him that she was to send pictures to us, but they had not been received.  After that conversation with him, we did receive pictures from Mrs. [redacted] showing a motor and a capacitor sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck and not inside of the air conditioning system.  After looking over the pictures, it was determined that the fan motor shown in the picture is not a back mount motor which is required for the unit of record.  Our Technician Supervisor, [redacted], spoke to Mr. [redacted] and explained to him that the pictures received are inconclusive but we would still be willing to refund monies paid for our service call provided he could produce his invoice from a LICENSED AC CONTRACTOR showing the diagnosis and repair.  Mr. [redacted] stated to Mr. [redacted] that he would send the invoice via fax and requested our fax number from Mr. [redacted].  As of today's date, we have not received an invoice via fax, email, U S Postal Service or hand-delivered.
