Regarding the issue of the hot water tank, we told [redacted] that we could get him a new one but it had to be ordered and we would not...

get it til the following week. He said he couldn't wait so we called [redacted]. The admin fee, to our knowledge, is for every customer with warranty issues. We feel that we went out of our way to help and that we should not be responsible for reimbursing him the fee. Also, we have spoken to other ** stores, in the area and they all charge an admin. fee. I was never offered a replacement boiler. Never. I was told they do not sell them anymore. That they had given up because of the trouble they experienced with their contact for [redacted]. She was empathetic and explained that customers expect a replacement without delay from [redacted]. That it wasn't worth their time to deal with [redacted]. [redacted]. I asked if I could have the telephone number for [redacted] so that I could call. Long story short it was suggested that I could try to have it replaced by another business across the street and that I could call them. I suggested that perhaps she should call. I was advised she would get back to me. Later she called me and told me that I could call another [redacted] and gave me a name and telephone number. I called them and was advised to bring the original receipt as well as the boiler tag and that there would be an administration fee of $[redacted] and asked if I was okay with that. I replied "no" but now what am I to do. [redacted] I asked what the fee was for when the boiler is being replaced free under warranty. I was told that I was not a regular customer of theirs and the fee was for having to complete the paperwork - transaction.
Feeling that [redacted] was so bad to deal with I had better accept or be prepared to pay full price for another. I accepted.
I have since investigated this and found that Churchill's is the only [redacted] that doesn't sell these boilers. I have also checked about any "administration fee" and found that one place ( not a ** or [redacted] )does not charge and that the ** and [redacted] charge ranging from $** to $** and in my case $[redacted]
Had I been told this while I was spending [redacted] of dollars at Churchill's while building a new home I would have known what to expect. [redacted]. The fee I paid was [redacted] plus tax of [redacted] for a total of [redacted]
[redacted] Should there be any extra cost to the business -it should be incorporated up front or that customers should be advised of an "administration fee ".

In response to the administration fee for the warranty on the hot water heaters, we do not have anything in writing-All [redacted] and [redacted] are individually owned and operated and it is the decision of each individual owner on charging an administration fee.
In regards to the hot water heaters, this is the main reason we stopped bringing them in. We did not think it was right to charge the customer an admin fee. Also, getting warranty from the company, on the heaters, is extremely difficult. There is alot of leg work involved in this process. That is the main reason the owners put the admin fee in place, to cover the time used for this process.
We are very disappointed in the fact that [redacted] felt that he had to bring this to the Revdex.com. He was told, upfront, that we did not carry the heaters anymore and about the admin fee.

More or less it advises that the owner ( me ) is responsible to submit the warranty claim directly to [redacted]. Also, the owner is responsible for all frieght, shipping, handling and delivery costs.
I wish I had known this in the beginning.
