Review: Proposal was agreed upon and Deposit issued, came for 3.5 days to start work additional monies were given (total of $7,000.00) then left and stated he wuld be back in a 2 days and has not returned - Have tried to contact him by phone but no luck. Basement has the old concrete floor removed and big hole in front, leaving basement I beleive in an unsfe and unusable condition and have not heard a word from Metro Cement - Please helpDesired Settlement: I would like the jo to be finished in a professional and timely matter, or refund the Money given

Review: In June of 2012 I had [redacted] from Metro Cement Inc. come to my home at [redacted] and give me an estimate to concrete my back yard around a newly installed semi-inground pool and also put a few stairs and create a concrete deck around half of said pool.

Two years later I wanted to have my driveway widened and the front steps on my home redone; I decided to call Metro Cement Inc. While they were at the house [redacted] and I went in the backyard to look at my concrete and I pointed out some flaking areas. He said there would be no problem repairing those areas. The front steps took Metro Cement only 3 days to complete and the workers did a shabby job skim coating a non matching cement over the flaked areas. [redacted] and his men were supposed to return 2 days later to begin work on the driveway. I called the company to let them know I was not pleased with the repair and I got no call back.

Metro Cement never came back to my home. they never even came to do the work on the driveway. Once I complained that the repair in the yard was not going to be good enough, they were gone like the wind.

I have still been unable to reach them. I have called and called. It is now May 2015 and I have not had the concrete in my yard for 4 summers yet and it is crumbling so badly. I have texted and called the company I have sent puctures of the yard. There is no way that concrete should last less than 4 years. I would like his company to come rip up the boxes and redo them. I do not want a patch job. I let them do that already and it did not solve the issue.Desired Settlement: I would like them to come rip up the sections that they did not do correctly and put new concrete down.

Review: Dear Sirs; I was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, I had over 6 ft. of water around and in my home foe over 15 hours. My front brick stoop/porch was badly damaged. I contracted Metro Cement Inc. to tear down and replace what was left of it in June 2013. I gave them a down payment of $3500.00 and they began work in July. They finished sometime the 2nd week of July, they were paid in full before the job was completed. All looked well I was told to water the cement work for one week so it would set and dry properly which I did, I was also told to use calcium chloride and not salt in the winter when it snowed which I also did. The whole first week after it was completed sand came to the top. I continued to do so for months leaving cracks and holes throughout the top of the porch, and now cracks on the side. I contacted the [redacted] who said he couldn't do anything until May of 2014 when the weather was better. I have been calling him every other day for over 6 months now and he keeps giving me a date when he will be here to fix it but he never shows up and never calls. He was supposed to be here again today, never called, never showed up. He line is "There is no guarantees in cement". I think I have been patient enough, taking into account bad weather. I need my porch fixed, I have an elderly mother who can trip and fall. This is not a patch job that I need, I have had another cement company look at this and was told the whole top needs to be taken up and re-poured.Desired Settlement: Once again, this is not a patch job that I need, I need to have the top taken up and the concrete re-poured, I don't know if it was a bad batch of cement that was poured or workmanship, but I need this work properly corrected. He also needs to give me a date when this is to be done and return my phone calls. Please help. I am home this week but will be at work next week.
