Commercial property chose Metro Concrete to conduct an estimateHandling of the intial appointment swas fine, no complaints thereHowever, upon arrival, Metro Concrete employee failed to make his presence known to office staff, and the office manager was only aware he had completed the estimate after he abruptly dropped off paperwork with office staff This employee left even though office staff had asked him to wait a few moments so that the office manager could speak with himWhen he returned a requested call back, he continued to talk over the office manager and in reply to why he left so suddenly, he stated he had informed someone that he would be arriving on-site mins prior and when he was asked to hold a moment so the call could be transferred to the office manager, he decided not to because he was drivingWhen office manager asked why he didn't wait after the estimate so she could speak with him, he stated he didn't want to wait Poor introductory service

In August of 2013 we had the apron in front of our garage replaced because it was 10+ years and full of cracks. The crew was on time and very friendly. When they were done it looked great. In May of 2014 we noticed flaking in the concrete and we notified the company about the flaking. They sent someone out to look at it and they said that they were having issues with their supplier (Cemstone) and were looking into the best possible solution. When we asked if they would get back to us on the best solution, they answered “Absolutely”
In July of 2014 we had to write back to them, so much for getting back with us. They proceeded to let us know that the concrete was not laid down improperly it was that they were having an issue with their supplier.
August 2014 we contacted them again (are you seeing a pattern here). They assured me that they will have a definite answer for us next week. They are not ignoring our concerns.
Winter of 2015 we have written back and as usual they have not responded and now our apron is raising, is it because of the so called issue they are having with their supplier I do not know because they have never gotten back to me. I know of several people that are needing concrete repair and I will show them my apron and tell them not to use Metro Concrete Raising, look what they did to me. I do not care that they had an issue with the supplier, they should have made me as a customer whole, refund my money or redo my apron with a different supplier. Their motto should be “Customer service ends when the check is cashed!”

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/07/15) */
We installed a concrete garage apron for Mr [redacted] in August of 2013. We received an email from him in May of 2014 stating that there was some concrete flacking occurring. This happened due to chemicals on the roadway used in the...

winter due to extreme conditions, major ice build up on roadways, it was actually published that the chemicals were causing damage to new driveways, their damage was not our fault... We (as a company with great service) agreed to replace the apron at no cost to the homeowner. We sent our crew out and replaced the apron and in the process of removing it a small area of his drive was damaged due to the pour condition of the driveway, it was only 1" thick!! We reluctantly agreed to repair the area that was damaged(knowing that it was bad before we even did the job) the cost for the repair was $1250.00
We offered to send Mr [redacted] a check for the repairs and he now files a complaint. We will NOT be replacing his driveway which is in terrible shape and are very reluctant to pay him the $1250.00 for the small area that was damaged. I feel he is trying to take advantage of this situation and wants a free driveway. He is asking for a refund on his apron??? and a new driveway???? Seriously!!!??
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 15, 2015/08/04) */
We did not know the deadline to review the complaint, I had been checking and did not see a date and when I checked today I saw the deadline had passed.
I am not trying to take advantage of a situation as Metro Concrete is stating. The driveway is not is bad shape as they state and their crew knew what they did when it happened. My son heard them saying "I told you not to put it there" and then the crew did tell my son they damaged the driveway. Metro Concrete sent a driveway company to my house, he left a number that I called. The man told me he happened to be in the area when they called and that he comes through every couple of months. He described cutting an 8 foot x 25 foot part of the driveway out and replacing it. That would put a seam in my driveway, if that is the case then I would have to replace the whole driveway any way. I also did not hear back from him or Metro Concrete after that. I do not consider that good customer service. I did not appreciate Metro Concrete stating that my driveway was in bad shape when they did not even look at it. I am assuming this because when it did happen the crew acknowledged what they had done and it was ignored until we said something about it and filed a complaint.

We went above and beyond to see to his needs and yes his driveway asphalt is only 1" thick in areas that we were unaware of. Our resolve was more than adequate. Him having a "seam" in his driveway does NOT mean the whole driveway needs done. The Whole driveway needs done cause it is such bad shape.
