This is a response to the complaint of Mr***
Also contained in this letter is a brief description of the problems associated with Mr*** and his inexperience with boating
Mr*** rented a fishing boat from Metro Lakes Marina & RentalsWe gave Mr*** detailed instructions on how to run and operate the boat along with going over the lake and all the damages on the boatThis is a mandatory check out that is given to all boats rentedThe first time Mr*** rented from us we gave him detailed instructions on how to start the boat, specifically informing him of turning the key and not pushing the key in when starting the boatPushing in the key chokes out the engine
We received a call later that day from Mr***We tried to explain to Mr*** over the phone how to start the engineHe said he was unable to start the boatWells *** (Manager of Metro Lakes Marina) jumped on a wave runner and headed out to help Mr*** with the fishing boatUpon arrival Mr*** was able to start the boat within secondsMr*** showed him again how to start the boatMr*** was instructed to head back to the marinaInstead of going straight to the Marina, Mr*** decide to stop at Lord Fletchers, a bar located on Lake Minnetonka, and again did not listen to our specific instruction on starting the boat and heading back to our headquartersThis time Mr*** fried out the starter on the boatCost including labor comes to $
On Mr***' second rental, he was given a detailed instruction on how to run and operate the boat againMr*** went out and we received a call from him later that dayMr*** was unable to start the boat a second timeWe tried to tell him over the phone how to start the boat again, which he was unable to doThen, we sent out Wells *** on a wave runner to assist Mr***Mr*** had asked Mr*** how to start the boat, and Mr*** had clearly not listened to the safety talk, because he was still pushing in the key (which chokes out the engine)Mr***, for the second time now, was able to start the boat, and instructed Mr*** to go back to the marinaMr*** followed him this time to make sure he made it back to the marinaWhen the boat came back, we gave it a routine inspection and notified Mr*** that he may have fried out the starter
*** has rented from us twice now and has been the only one that has had issues starting the boat
Because of the listed above incidents and problems and lack of knowledge and inexperience with boating listed above, Metro Lakes Marina can no longer allow Mr*** to rent watercraft from its locationMetro Lakes Marina on both incidents has inquired over $in damages caused by Mr***
