Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/14) */
Mr. [redacted] called at 1:38am on 1/8/16 and said he was locked out of his home. I arrived and he was locked out of a commercial building.
After attempting to pick the lock and failing, I offered Mr. [redacted] the option of me leaving with no charge...

or I could drill and remove the lock. Mr. [redacted] opted to have the lock drilled, removed and replaced.
While drilling the lock, Minneapolis Police arrived due to a neighbor calling in the suspicious activity. We spent close to 20 minutes awaiting to resume working on the lock as Mr. [redacted] struggled to provide documentation that he had authorization to be there.
I drilled the lock, got Mr. [redacted] inside where it was warm and dry. Mr. [redacted] went inside and turned up the music to such a high volume that the Minneapolis Police were once again called for a noise complaint.
Once Minneapolis Police left and I resumed working on the door, Mr. [redacted] came back outside with a drink in his hand, telling me his best friend is a Locksmith and he knows how long this should take and started to get upset that I seemed to be taking longer.
Mr. [redacted] got confrontational and I explained that if he did not allow me room to work, I'd have to leave. He finally went inside. He returned about 10 minutes later and walked through the doorway I was working on. He accidentally kicked a good number of screws required for secure assembly of his exit device in to the fresh snow.
I explained that this would make it a bit more challenging and that I'd do my best with the missing screws and bolts.
I assembled the exit device and explained that with the missing screws, it would not be very sturdy and should not be used until I can return with screws after the Hardware Store opened in a few hours.
Mr. [redacted] then grabbed the exit device, started shaking it violently and screaming and repeating that it was too loose, too lose, too loose. He said my work was unacceptable and he would not be paying for any of the work done.
I tried to remind him of the screws that were kicked in to the snow and lost. I explained that if he found them, I could tighten it right now, otherwise I'd have to go to the Hardware Store when it opened. Mr. [redacted] became enraged.
Mr. [redacted] stormed in to the house and slammed the door as I was standing in the door way. I felt at this point if he returned he would be even more upset and for my safety, I left.
Mr. [redacted] did not pay for the lockout service or the lock cylinder replacement. I left Mr. [redacted]'s hardware where it was, on the door, loose and kept my lock cylinder in my inventory since it was not paid for. His was destroyed to get the door unlocked, per his permission.
5 hours later, Minneapolis Police called and asked for my side of the story and said that Mr. [redacted] wants to press charges. I explained the order of events to the Officer and explained we did not get paid and only left when Mr. [redacted] refused to allow me to finish the work.
It should also be noted that Mr. [redacted] then left a review on Facebook claiming that it took me 4 hours to not get his exit device assembled but once I left he claims he was able to install it himself in less than an hour. His Facebook review claims that he already has his exit device fixed.
Due to the behavior displayed by Mr. [redacted] while working on his door and the outrageous claims he has made since, we feel it is best that Mr. [redacted] hire an other Locksmith for his next emergency.
We take accusations of theft very seriously as we are in the security industry. We would never take anything that was not our's and if we did unintentionally we would surely replace it. The lock cylinder Mr. [redacted] is claiming I stole costs less than $7. The screws Mr. [redacted] accidentally kicked in to the snow are less than $2 total.
Mr. [redacted] does not need a new exit device, he simply needs to find or replace the missing screws and have someone tighten them in to place.
