Good Morning,
We will release a check to you in the amount of $at the end of this week to close this matter Please be advised that the area serviced by another contractor can not be warrantied by Metropolitan Again we apologize that you were unhappy and hope that this settlement is satisfactory.
Thank you

We have no record of this customer I believe they are looking for a attorney. *** ***

In response to the above complaint we did enter into a repair contract with *** *** on 5/21/we completed the repair on Saturday May 31st *** *** did contact our
office about two weeks ago and stated the roof was currently leaking We attempted to resend out our crew, which they did not in fact show up when scheduled by our office and since that time D*** has been terminated from employment by Metropolitan because that standard of work ethic we find to be unacceptable and will not allow our workers to treat our valued customers in such a manner That being said, the original repair seemed to have worked for months prior to *** ***'s phone call to tell us it was leaking again, repair work does not carry any warranty as it is a repair and not a replacement We would like to resolve this by sending one of our other tech's out either Thursday morning or Friday morning whichever works best for her In addition to that, we would like to refund half of her purchase price for her inconvenience

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: (a) Metropolitan did not speak to *** *** at all during
this process; (b) I *** *** spoke to the secretary only and did not speak
to anyone else during this process; (c) the secretary with whom I spoke said
that she would pass this information on to the manager; (d) I was never
contacted by any managerSo I cannot understand how this issue could have been
address without any contact whatsoever with the manager.
Metropolitan did no scheduling with me because we never
spoke with anyone there except with the secretary
Since there was no response from Metropolitan, I had to take
action to fix my roof to mitigate
further damage. In addition, no one
wants the interior of their home ruin by water, especially when rain was
forecasted for the night
The warranty in my possession states years and does not
specify material only. The registered
letter was sent to the White Plains office on December 31, and was
returned to me approximately two (2) weeks ago.
Since the return of the letter, I called the office on April 15,
and spoke to the secretary who reluctantly gave her name as Selby. I asked her to put me in contact with Jeff
T***. She placed me on hold for a
while and then returned to let me know that MrT*** is at a meeting and will
call me later. To date I have not
received a call from MrT***
On April 16, 2015, I called again and the secretary told me
that MrT*** was on vacationI asked her if I could speak with the person
currently in charged whom she identified as Tracy Bowie. The secretary placed me on hold and never
returned, neither did MsBowie calledDuring my interaction with
Metropolitan, they have been evasive and not forthcoming in resolving this
matter
I am therefore requesting that Metropolitan pay for the
repairs done to the roof
The following attachments I will submit by fax or mail
Regards,*** ***
Attachments:
1.
Copy of contract
2.
Copy of registered letter

Copy of Metropolitan’s address acquired from the

The window were installed by Metropolitan but manufactured by *** The glass has a year warranty from *** for any problems such as the seal The windows were purchased in they are years and no longer under the warranty for repairs from Metropolitan Should the *** wish to pay *** they will be charged by *** to repair the window The warranty is from *** as the manufacturer if they have the paperwork they will see that the warranty for years does not cover glass

Attached to this response you will find a copy of the manufacturer
warranty issued by [redacted].  It is a
limited 25 year warranty which does not cover issues with glass, that is why
[redacted] only fixed certain parts of the window, and since the windows were
completed in 1999...

it has exceeded our contractor warranty which would make [redacted].
[redacted] responsible for any repair to the glass that is not covered by the manufacturer.

In response to the complaint filed by [redacted]:
background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">[redacted] did contact Metropolitan Exteriors on October 6 , 2014 at 9:17am AND October 6 @ 12:16 pm.  At which time we took all necessary information and created a work order for our lead foreman Victor.   [redacted] was then put into our system to have the repair looked at and serviced, she went into our system and would have been addressed when scheduling permitted.  We assume that this was not a timely enough of a response so [redacted] chose to hire another contractor to repair her roof. If [redacted] would have waited until we could get to her as our schedule permitted, should it have been a minor repair we would have kindly done it at a discounted rate or at  no charge, even considering that she is well beyond her 5 year labor warranty with Metropolitan .  The 25 year warranty stated on her contract is for material only thru the manufacturer.  After the initial phone calls on October 6, Metropolitan has no record of [redacted] calling again and we have no record of any registered mail coming to our office.  We did re-locate in 2013 , and if she had sent it to the old Waldorf address it would have been returned to her.   Our phone numbers have never changed.
Metropolitan believes that we should not be responsible for sharing the cost in a repair for a roof that is years beyond its warranty.   We do pride ourselves in customer service and had we been given the opportunity to come and fix the leak we would have done so.
Thank you

Our sales person [redacted] did visit **. [redacted] at his home for the initial visit.  **. [redacted] stated he wished for the work to be completed ASAP , [redacted] then provided him a verbal quote while at his home and stated that we could have the work done the following day since we already had...

our crew in the area.  **. [redacted] agreed to the verbal price. So we then in turn sent our crew out the next day.  Until this complaint had been filed we have not heard from **. Review: In May 2014 employed Metropolitan Exteriors, Inc to repair roof leak occurring around bathroom vent pipe. This was supposedly completed, I was billed and the company was paid. In September the roof leak occurred again, same as in May. I have placed multiple calls to have someone come and recheck the work and to correctly repair the leak. An answering service responds to the majority of calls who says they will relay message to company. I did finally talk to someone in the office who said a repair person would come the following Sunday to check the roof and conduct repairs. No one came and no phone call was received to explain or to reschedule. After multiple more calls I received a call from a service man who said he was come on the following Friday around 1 pm. I took the day off work to be there. Around 1:30 pm I called the repair person to see if he was still coming. I was told he was delayed and would be at my home in about 20 minutes. He never showed up. Repeat calls to the service man and company have not been returned. I have given up calling more. They are not reliable and I would hate for anyone else to experience this. Their supposed guarantee is not valid. Their website says they have an A+ rating with the Revdex.com. I don't understand how this can be possible. At this point they have an F rating from me.Desired Settlement: Either come fix the problem or give me my money back.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

The agreement from the complaint indicated the company would contact me to come to recheck the roof and they would provide a reimbursement of 1/2 the amount I had previously paid for the roof repair. I have not heard anything from Metropolitan. No one has contacted me to follow up on the roof repair and I have not received any reimbursement. I understand from their statement in the previous complaint that they do not provide a warranty; however, I was told the repair work would last up to 6 years. It failed within 6 weeks. I do also agree the recurrence of leaking was a one time event after the initial repair. Despite multiple rain events since then I don't "see" any further visible leaking. I don't know why other than it may have been the severity of rain with wind that resulted in the leaking. I am concerned there may be unseen damage still occurring. I just would like it rechecked to be sure I won't be facing further damage to my roof and ceiling in the future. I have no idea what snow melting on the roof will cause.

Review: Several months ago, I contacted Metropolitan Exteriors and scheduled an estimate with **. [redacted] at my home address. During the estimate, I discussed with **. [redacted] the scope of work of the project, which was to re-pitch both of my gutters, and that I wished to be present at the time the work was completed. The option to add another downspout was also discussed. **. [redacted] indicated at the conclusion of the estimate that he would be sending me a written proposal. No proposal was ever sent. Then several months later I received an invoice from Metropolitan Exteriors alleging a balance due.

It appears that work was done on my property, while I was not home. The primary reason I contacted Metropolitan Exteriors was to re-pitch both of my gutters, with the new pitch of the two gutters to be determined to my satisfaction at the time the work was completed. However, neither gutter appears to have been touched, and a downspout, which I had not made a decision about yet, was added. As I was not given an opportunity to be present, I was not able to provide any input. The work was not completed to my satisfaction, nor was my consent or approval ever given for this work.Desired Settlement: I would like for Metropolitan Exteriors to stop contacting me.

Review: I signed a contract in late November 2012 for Metropolitan Design/Build to do a number of major repairs to my home, which was significantly damaged during Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. It is now April 24, 2013, and no work has begun. My contract said they would start in 6 to 8 weeks. I realize that materials must be ordered and that my damages were "low" on the totem pole, that a lot of other homeowners were hit harder than I was, but I'm living with holes in my roof because of tree damage, a dangerous, unusable deck, damaged gutters, water damage in the master bedroom, etc. Not once has anyone from this company called me EXCEPT to ask for payment from me so that they could order materials. I've inquired several times over the course of several weeks to attempt to pin someone there down on a date that materials will be in and work will begin but I never get a call back and I continue to get the "run around." This is absolutely unacceptable and I am considering losing whatever money I've already given them just to have someone else who's more responsive begin the work.Desired Settlement: All insurance monies refunded so I can hire another contractor. Thank you.

Response:

Please be advised that all work was completed at this home on 5/15/2013. If you have any questions please email back at the above email address.

Thank you,

Review: We have had issues with the replacement of the flat roof over our dining room. During the repair, the roof was not covered and a storm caused water to pour into the dining room. The roof repair was continued and completed, but to a non-satisfactory condition. The requested sloping to alleviate pooling of water was not achieved. An attempt was made to further fix the roof by putting layers over the existing layer. Nevertheless, we were reassured by Metropolitan that the repair was successful and the job was complete, so we paid the full amount due. Over this past year since the roof was replaced, this layer is now bubbling up and there is further drywall damage in the dining room (water spots and peeling drywall tape). There is a 10 year warranty on the labor and materials from Metropolitan. We have made multiple attempts to contact Metropolitan Exteriors, but have not been able to get anyone to call us back to address our concern and repair the roof.Desired Settlement: Either replace the roof entirely including insulation or issue a refund of our money ($1750)
