Metro-Vet,comOctober 20, 2014[redacted]In response to the letter dated 10/16/14 identified as [redacted], please see below:The person filing the claim brought their pet into the hospital for services provided on...

7/27/11 totaling $501,00. When that visit was over they let us know that they did not have money to pay for the services rendered, they were having financial concerns and would call us back shortly with payment. Please note that this client and pet were known to us from many years of service and had a long-standing relationship with our neurologist – there is no possibility of misidentification. After repeated attempts to collect the money we unfortunately had to turn the situation over to our collection agency who have been trying to work with them for 3+ years (please note that the collection agency will only take cases where we have proven the facts behind the delinquency). As is their practice, unpaid debts are reported and attach to the owners Credit,There is no question that the correct person is being charged for the visit. The client has been in touch with our hospital this month to set us know that they are trying to purchase a home and the credit is adversely affecting them. They have threatened to bring false action against us in these calls in an attempt to have us contact the collection agency and have them remove the debt,The client should be working directly with the collection agency to clear the delinquency,Thank you.Sincerely,Jacqui N[redacted]

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Again, the business fails to understand and continues to fraudulently bill for services that were not authorized by myself. They continue to use their OPINION as fact. I was a client of this business in 2006 through 2009... After 2009 I no longer was in the area, I no longer was the owner/parent of the dog in question and I did not authorize anyone to bill my "account." Furthermore I did not change my name to that of my partner, I changed my last name to that of my mother's maiden name. This case is quite simple... Metro allowed someone I FORMERLY had a relationship with to walk in 2 years after the relationship ended and to use MY name rather than his own... Again, not an issue IF he paid as I ALWAYS had at the time of services rendered, however that is not the case. He had no legal standing to request metro bill me, nor did metro have any legal standing to allow him to request I be billed. This is fraud. Metro continues to be very unprofessional and accusatory. [redacted] has not been my address is several years, and it is extrememly unreasonable and flat out ridiculous to insinuate I am at fault for not "closing my account." This speaks to the extraordinaly unprofessional and unethical business practices of this business. My next actions will simply have to be through legal channels which I was hoping to avoid, however metro seems to want to continue to play games, remain accusatory for THEIR poor business practice, and fraudulent billing practice. Metro simply needed to request ID when someone pretended to be someone they are not.

In response to the updated letter received today, the complainant originally came to see us on 7/6/06 with a different last name and signed registration paperwork acknowledging the dog singularly as his own. At no time was a change in ownership brought to our attention coupled with the fact that our receptionist remembers the visit in 2011. At a later time he changed his last name on our records to take his partners last name. The address provided on file of [redacted] has been the only address provided to us. The county's property records are available free to the public — the address provided to us is verified as matching until the property was sold in March of 2012. This means letters would have been addressed to the correct location,As we have communicated with him through calls he made to the hospital this month, he should contact [redacted] Collections again to clear the matter up at his earliest opportunity. In checking their records, they spoke to him in December of 2012 when he made a dispute to the claim. They verified the accuracy of the debt and have continued collection proceedings, Their contact information is below:Phone: [redacted]I am aware that this collection agency does make payment arrangements and is easy to work with.Thank you,Sincerely,Lori W.
