I just wanted to share my experiences with a shipment that was handled and delivered by Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery While I didn't directly chose this company, Costco uses them to deliver furniture
The cost of delivery included in-home setup and removal of packaging materials
After letting the two delivery men into the house and showing them where the furniture would be installed, they made rude comments and gestures that the bedroom set was to be installed in an upstairs bedroom (rudeness and unprofessionalism was a common theme throughout the install)
They unpacked all the furniture outside, allowing trash to be blown around the yardWhen they left they only removed the trash that remained in their pile, leaving plastic and Styrofoam all over the yard and neighbors yard
During the entire delivery they insisted that the front door remain openIf they were upstairs or outside, the door needed to be open If the door was closed they would make a rude comment to the point that their job was to install not deal with doorsThis was the 30th of October in the North East, cold enough outside to require heating the house
As they removed all the protection the boxes provided outside, they have damaged the drywall in the stairwell wall as well as the stairwell ceiling caring up the furniture leaving a large gash which visible on the ceiling and gash with small hole the wall They also put a couple smaller less noticeable puncture marks in adjacent walls as well
At one point I walked in on them smoking in my house As this is a new house that is non-smoking that is beyond acceptable behavior That left ash that had to be vacuumed up and a smell that lingered
Upon them leaving I discovered they cranked up the thermostat to the low 80's while leaving the outside door open And finally I also noticed they attempted to use two of the bathrooms, I say attempted as the toilets were not flushed and a majority of their urine was on the seat and the floor
I have never had an experience bad enough that I felt that I had to share on the Revdex.com until now
If you need an in-home delivery, please do yourself a favor and avoid a company that hires employees with this much disrespect to a customer
