Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] The business response of 9/30/2014/ 3:PM is not a truthful account My response is as follows : Professional service contractors routinely schedule work several months in advance This is proper planning and certainly not considered "strange"It was requested that work would commence the week of August 10th It was impossible to contact [redacted] Painting at the number provided, hence it was necessary to stop at the address given Perhaps this was due to the fact that the owner listed of [redacted] Painting was deceased as of July 21, and therefore unable to answer the phone number listed Unfortunately, we learned of this misrepresentation after proxy painter walked off the jobSubsequently, an additional amount was asked for due to our request of the use of Sherwin Williams Duration Paint This paint has a list price of $per gallon However, the documented actual invoice charge was for seven gallons of Sherwin Williams Paint at $per gallon with the actual cost of $with added tax of $11.89, total cost of $ This paint was the only product that remained with us after work ceasedThe person who power-washed the house admitted that he was a quarry worker trying to get into the landscaping business He was inexperienced using a rental power washer and complained he was " stuck with the job " His unfamiliarity with the equipment as well as proper procedure resulted in extensive damage due to deep gouges in the surfaces of the siding The ten storm windows were completely sanded and prepped in our garage by the homeowner, prior to the painter arriving for painting Painter suggesting a charge of $each is excessive since the entire process took less than four hours The finished result was unsatisfactory because paint was dribbled over the edges, left to dry and needed to be removed before the storm windows would fit back into the house At no time did we agree to or have any prior knowledge such as " [redacted] Brothers Painting " work on our house This was another case of gross misrepresentation [redacted] Painting was the business we were told would be responsible for the work done It was agreed that the painting would be done by spraying and brushing Painting of the prior smooth siding using heavy long-napped rollers was objected to because the result of pronounced texture [redacted] became irate saying this is how they did 95% of the houses Why was [redacted] of " [redacted] Brothers Painting " making the decisions when no agreement existed with him ? [redacted] went on to say the paint was too thick and they did not care for the Duration paint and never had used it At no time did we suggest that the paint be " watered down " Apparently they were unaware of the product " Flowtrol " used by most professional painters with the Duration paint for smooth surfaces [redacted] did not cover the outdoor brick chimney , splattering paint there as well as all over the gas meter in the area he worked on Rain began coming down hard at which time they packed up their things and began to leave At this time [redacted] complained loudly about my attempting to clean the gas meter , which is certainly my prerogative since we do own the house age has no issue whatsoever The next morning [redacted] arrived and began sanding the heavy texture briefly He again became irate when the poor work was addressed After heavy rain overnight it would have been impossible to sand the heavy texture which had not even dried properly He stated that we were just too fussy and that they would be leaving immediately Discussion of the $1,made before work began was a factor in not allowing removal of the equipment stored in our garage The painters check of $was not sufficient in respect to unsatisfactory work and therefore was handed back to him (definitely not crumpled and tossed as erroneously stated )This disagreement resulted in our refusal for removing the painters equipment from our garage [redacted] Painting chose to contact the police rather than attempt to mediate the situation and come to an agreement With the police observation the equipment was removed from our garage Painter telephoned that afternoon stating that a check would be mailed along with an invoice for work done However, as of this date this has not been done One visit to the business address was unsuccessful in resolution Statements attributed to the police sergeant who also contacted [redacted] Painting at resolution are untrue as per police sergeant involved The filing of theft by fraud was suggested and encouraged at the time the facts of this situation was presented to the police department There is no reason to suggest an " unstable mental state " This is derogatory and totally irrel***tAn amount of $for less than eight hours of work is generous and fair The cost of the paint was $ All painting done by [redacted] Painting needed to be redone by the Profession Painter contracted to repair and restore our house to the condition required Therefore , we ascertain the statement made at the time of [redacted] Painting cessation of work should be the return of at least $of the down payment of $1, Future lack of resolution will result in the just return of all of the down payment due to damages incurred and well documented Mrs [redacted] M [redacted]
