Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/05/06) */
I would like to start by saying; Mexico Motors Llc has been in business since 1986. Since 1986, we have sold over 10,000 vehicles in our small rural community. We hate to hear about any bad experiences with any of our sold vehicles....

Addressing the specific complaint from Mr. [redacted]...
In September 2014, Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2003 Ford Ranger with 141,874 miles. We believe a shrewd consumer that has purchased any used vehicle would personally inspect the vehicle their self or, if not mechanically inclined, have an experienced mechanic inspect the vehicle before purchase. If any problems had been addressed with us within a few days we would have been more than happy to try and make it right.
Proving this point; shortly after the sale, Mr. [redacted] came in to the office asking for help on an issue with the vehicle. Our shop inspected the vehicle and replaced the tensioner and heater relay at no charge. It should also be noted that the industry standard warranty on vehicles in excess of 100k miles would be 30 days or 1000 miles 50/50 or AS/IS.
Around the end of December 2014 (three months & 7,000 miles after the purchase), Mr. [redacted] returned to our office with the vehicle. At this time the vehicle had over 148,611 miles. The vehicle was having internal engine noise. Our shop recommended the problem be evaluated by an authorized Ford dealer where they could also provide warranty repairs, under the extended warranty that he purchased. Based on our recommendation, Mr. [redacted] took the vehicle to a Ford dealer who diagnosed that 4 lifters be replaced. They also recommended that other lifters be replaced at the same time. Unfortunately, since the other lifters were not failing at the time, his extended warranty would not cover the additional $170 of repairs. Mr. [redacted] authorized these additional repairs.
In this complaint Mr. [redacted] has gone on to make allegations about a ball joint, fuel filter, etc. I would like to state that at no time did Mr. [redacted] contact us to express these problems. The statement from Mr. [redacted] regarding plugs & wires 'out of my pocket' should be considered routine maintenance on a vehicle with over 140,000 miles.
It was not until April 2015 when Mr. [redacted] and his girlfriend came to our dealership with these grievances. They arrived demanding a $1500 payment without negotiation.
I explained to them that I needed some time to look into the issues. Keep in mind, the last thing I had heard from them was in December regarding some engine noise, that I presumed had been fixed. It should be noted that at this time the vehicle had 155,368 miles, which is almost 14,000 miles from date of purchase.
I asked them to give me some time to look into it and consider some good faith to help in the matter. It was at this point Mr. [redacted]'s girlfriend displayed an aggressive outburst with threats of lawsuits and calling the MSHP. She was unwilling to communicate, continued yelling and using profanity in front of my staff and customers. It was obvious that Mr. [redacted]'s girlfriend could not be negotiated with. Before the situation could escalate even further we quickly and politely escorted them off of our business property.
In conclusion, after the outrage and threating manner in which this was handled by Mr. [redacted] & his girlfriend we feel that there is nothing we can do to change or help with this matter.
Sincerely,
Mexico Motors
