Meyers Professional Movers Reviews (3)

The only positive thing I can say about this company is that they were accomodating when a different company I had scheduled to move unexpectedly cancelled, due to an overbooking error Other than that, I have nothing positive to say about this company I scheduled two movers for 3:pm They showed up around pm They did call and say there was bad traffic in the area, but an hour and a half late is unprofessional Upon arrival, one of the movers proceeded to chat with their driver for an additional ten minutes You would think that after showing up an hour and half late, you'd apologize and say "what can we do to get started?" When the two movers stepped out of the car, they smelled like alcohol My wife took a peek inside their car and found empty beer cans in the back seat I texted the owner of the company to let her know that her employees had been drinking The owner apologized and said she would "take care of it." Not wanting to falsely accuse the movers of drinking, I let them begin to move some of our belongings Within minutes, I hear them banging furniture around, scratching and denting the walls to the house One mover then carries a coffee table outside and sets it on our lawn, which has a slight downward slope (easily visible) The same mover then carries out our filing cabinet and places it on top of the coffee table (after us telling him not to place it on the coffee table as it would fall) Five seconds late, the drawers of the cabinet begin to open and the filing cabinet falls off of the coffee table, scratching the coffee table, leaving the filing cabinet busted and broken Not to mention, all of our personal documents that were in the filing cabinet had spilled out into our front lawn Rather than apologizing, the mover walked back into the house to grab the next item At this point, we call the owner and she instructs us to tell the movers to stop and not to touch any more of our belongings We communicate this to the movers, and the one mover becomes extremely hostile When I confront him about drinking on the way to our house, he proceeeds to say "That doesn't mean anything and doesn't matter." I don't know what kind of background checks this company performs on its employees, but I don't know any company that finds this acceptable I told the mover that anyone that shows up to work drunk would be fired immediately in any other situation After resisting several times to leave our property, the movers finally leave and walk away After this, we speak to the owner who agrees to personally come to our property and reimburse us for all damages to our belongings However, the owner of the company never shows, and never calls back to apologize and "make it right." I have no clue how this company is in business The company treats its customers like garbage, and hires the most unqualified people to perform a job I would never recommend this company to anyone unless you're looking for intoxicated men to handle your heavy furniture Seems like a good idea right?
