In response to this complaint. I am [redacted], Owner of MG Lifetime Construction, I have been conducting business here in Coronado for over 15yrs.Mrs. ([redacted] who lives next to the remodel on which I am working on has been complaining since the Project has begun. ...

In all my times of working in this area I have never came a person such as herself, who continuously finds things to complain about. The portable basket ball hoop is kept in the street in front of her home so she can keep her car in the driveway.  By the way it is against City Ordinance in Coronado to keep such items in the road. (Please see attached google earth picture with old portable basketball hoop in the street & also when the police requested her to move it to her property) . On the particular day the portable basketball hoop  was in the lowered height position so it was not visible when I backed up in my utility work truck, the net snagged the highest point of my utility lumber rack.   Once I realized I hit it, I straighten it up to make sure it was still adjustable and it was.  The rim was slightly bent upward, but  still  usable, she was not satisfied. As in regards to contacting me, the remodel I am working on is right next door she can see when my vehicle is there, she is more than welcome to speak with me while I am there.  She also has my cell number which she called and we spoke.  She also called on my private home number and we spoke. On 4/30/2015 I purchased a portable basket ball hoop comparable to the one she had in the street, I put it together myself and I delivered it on 5/01/2015.  I understand her husband and son had been shooting hoops on the new portable basketball hoop I purchased.  Later that day Mr. [redacted] and myself spoke about them accepting the new portable basketball hoop I had purchased.  As of 5/04/2015 they have not accepted my attempt to replace the new portable basketball hoop.(Please see receipt and picture of the new portable basketball hoop original cost $449.99,  I got it on sale for $280.79)I have tried to settle this matter but she is just the kind of person you run into now and then who cannot be satisfied with anything no matter what effort you put into it.Thank-you for giving me the opportunity to tell my side of this complaint against my integrity and my business. At this point if they are not wiling to accept this portable basketball hoop I am going to donate it to Wounded Warriors or any others who are in need of this....Sincerely,[redacted]MG Lifetime Construction, IncPlease Note:Picture in front of Green House is the remodel I am working on and the new portable basket ball hoop that I purchased for her,  picture of old portable basket ball hoop in in the dirt by palm tree where Mrs. [redacted] lives.

At this point if they are not wiling to accept this portable basketball hoop I am going to donate it to Wounded Warriors or any others who are in need of this....

Good Afternoon [redacted] -I am Mrs. [redacted], I did speak to Mrs. [redacted] when she called our residential number.  She immediately demanded to know who our insurance carrier is.  I asked what company she is with and she stated she is with no company and would not identify herself.  We get many sales calls on our residential line and I am not going to give out any personal information to anyone.  I was not rude, I was firm in asking who she is. When she finally stated her name I handed the phone to Mr. [redacted], (my husband) and he spoke to her. She has Mr. [redacted]'s work contact number and for her to call us on our residential line is very intrusive. Attached you will find a copy of the certified letter we sent to Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] on 5/12/2015.  We have not received the Certified Receipt back as of today 5/19/2015.As you will read in the letter we have exhausted our attempts trying satisfy Mr.and Mrs.[redacted] because they chose not to accept the new portable basketball hoop. In regards to this matter any issues they have is no longer viable because they made the choice at their discretion not to accept the new portable basketball hoop. Please Note:[redacted] Purchased on 4/30/201550" Foot ADJ Portable Basketball HoopIn the pictures below, Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] old portable basketball hoop is in front of the palm tree in the dirt at their house. The new portable basketball hoop Mr. [redacted] purchased for Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] is in the driveway of the home Mr. [redacted] is remodeling.Regards,[redacted]

Mr. [redacted]'s version is not a truthful one.
I never complained before he hit my children's basketball hoop.
He was incredibly difficult to reach. My husband and I tried numerous time to reach him next door and via phone. It wasn't until I Googled the business name and received a different phone number, which I assumed was a business line, did I get his home number. His wife was incredibly rude, he finally got on the phone and began yelling. Yes, he did bring a hoop, but it was not the same monetary value and the one damaged. Then, he would only leave it IF he got to take our old one. That was strange. After my husband explained that our oldest son collects used sporting goods and donates them to the [redacted] YMCA and that no, he can't take our old one, he pulled his offer away. My husband gave him the parts list and costs to simply buy the replacement pieces, he has not responded.

Review: The owner of Lifetime Construction, [redacted], hit our outdoor basketball hoop with his car while working on a neighbor's house. He then became very difficult to contact, hostile and verbally abusive. We asked that he replace the hoop with one of equal value, and he is refusing. He told me it was my fault because I force my children to play in the street (the hoop was located in a parking spot in front of my house). Today, the police came to my door and told me I needed to remove the hoop. He and/or the property owner obviously contacted them. Therefore, we are now out the money that it will cost to replace it ($329) and the time to assemble ($140 if Sports Chalet does it for us), and my children no longer are allowed to enjoy what has been a wonderful family and friend pastime.I just do not understand how a business owner can conduct himself this way. This is obviously unprofessional and unethical.Desired Settlement: We have asked that he replace the basketball hoop with one of equal value.I have sent him pictures of the item and the assembly charge rate. These take several people and hours to assemble--time we do not have, nor believe we should have to contribute. We were clear that we understand accidents happen, but that now he needs to simply make amends.
