So after living in my house for years, I am still experiencing problems that MG Services "fixed.' I purchased my house from a realtor that (I was told) uses this guy a lotBECAUSE HE'S CHEAP My neighbors told me the guy that lived in it before me was a slob and the house was really worn out, but when I bought it it looked fantastic! Then I started living in it and saw how all the damage was "fixed." Mostly, he just painted over problem areas1) The bathroom has a lot of water damage that started to show through the paint within a week of using the shower We had no rain during that week, so I know it was there before I moved in They had replaced some drywall, too, and didn't prime it, so you can see exactly where they taped the drywall2) They used really old, or dried out drywall mud because a lot of the tape is peeling from the walls - especially in the garage3) When they painted, they used an spray gun, and obviously didn't know how to use it The wall has a fine powder of paint on it that when you rub your hand on it, it comes off on your hand This means they held the sprayer too far away from the wall and some of the paint dried before it was on the wall and coated it with dried paint This leaves a nasty run in the bathroom where excess moisture collects on the walls and makes it streak down the wall They didn't mask anything off in the garage when they sprayed, either, because they got paint in the garage door rollers and tracks, so the garage door squeaks hideously They also got paint IN the garage door motor which has caused it to short out occasionally They also sprayed over the electric eye that keeps the door from closing on you - now the door occasionally won't close or open because it thinks something is in the way4) When they hooked up the new water heater, they mixed up the cold/hot lines so all the sinks are backwards In the downstairs bathroom, they put on hoses that were too short to cross (essentially switching the hot/cold feed so it would work normally), so they just left this and peeled the red/blue sticker from the faucet and turned it upside down The bathtub just works backwards5) They installed a cheap air conditioner that I have had problems with since day one I called Mike G*** (MG Services) about it and he simply replied that the new thermostat I put it was the problem and that's why it won't work I told him that "it worked for about a week, now it doesn't blow cold air - that's not a thermostat problem." But he was sure that I was the incompetent one and he'd look at his schedule to come out ONE WEEK LATER I was tired of sitting in degree heat and called a REAL professional They fixed it - it was a leak in the line They I had to get someone again - another leak Then again - the electrical box wasn't replaced (it was installed in 1984) when the A/C unit was replaced and the wires melted Then again, and again, and again I had a total of visits from different companies that would fine new problems with the install6) When they remodeled the downstairs bathroom, they drywalled over a water pipe in an exterior wall (a code violation), and the didn't even insulate it That winter, it froze and burst causing $damage to my basement When I remodeled the bathroom, it really made me realize what a substandard job this guy really does That bathroom is the nicest room in the whole house7) when they worked on the bathtub, they disassembled the overflow drain to try to clean it up and put new fixtures in (I know this because the fixture in it was new, and TOO SMALL to fit When they were working on that, they broke the overflow pipe When my wife went to take a bath, the water flooded down through the walls and into the garage8) They "painted" the garage floor It looked nice and new They didn't prepare the concrete or seal it, and the paint is all peeled upI don't know who is worse - MG Services or the realtor who continues to use them I had money put in escrow to repave my driveway MG Services was going to do it for $less than the other companies Needless to say I went with *** *** The driveway and the bathroom I remodeled is the only part of my house that is still in one pieceDO NOT use this guy and DO NOT trust him

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
I will dig out my paid receipts to *** over the weekend. Does this mean that *** is willing to pay half of the unnecessary repairs or is this another stall tactic?I did have, here at my office something that is even more interesting concerning *** honesty and how he treats customers that he deems to be stupid people with money. Attached is the joint estimate from *** (the second mechanic) after *** followed my car to *** shop. *** persuaded *** to try to get me to go along with a total engine rebuild. This was to be around $plus anything that came along unexpected.*** was to subcontract out to *** the actual engine rebuild for $5000. That needed $up front, because *** was needing the money. So here are the issues: 1. *** said several times that my car had" electrical gremlins". Always using that phrase. No engine rebuild would correct a defective $condenser. The "electrical gremlins" were caused because *** could not detect a defective condenser. He reversed the wires going out of the coil and he never tightened the battery cables? *** Motors told me that everybody knows about today's condenser issues or at least should know about them. I am sure that *** does know about the need to tighten battery cables and proper polarity of coil wires. But what I am saying is that whether these errors were intentional or not *** really tried to capitalize on the opportunity that was created by his own mistakes. This was to the point of following my car and stalking the second mechanic. 2. When the car was still in *** shop, several times my wife or I asked him how much the work was going to cost or after he had begun we asked him how much so far. He always answered, that he hadn't figured it. Don't worry about it. Hardly anything. He never gave a written or oral estimate or would even tell his hourly rate. 3. *** This is the real sign about the dishonesty or maybe just extreme bad judgment...........*** correctly diagnosed my car as having "electrical gremlins", even though he is the one that caused them. SO HERE IS WHAT I REALLY WANT *** TO ANSWER: The car ran wonderfully well at times. How could he have suggested a total engine rebuild??? This is what had other MG mechanics in disbelief when I consulted them.***I really want an answer to his before we go any further. I know that *** knows these cars. Were these mistakes really bad judgment or *** needing the money? 4. I certainly never got a call from *** saying "we are at $and I am really stumped. Should I continue?"
Regards,
*** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I feel I have made more than a reasonable effort to find a resolution and that [redacted] made zero effort.  Why would I want to go further?  He wouldn't even attempt to explain why he made so many mechanical and business mistakes.

Thank you for everything, [redacted]
Regards,
Terry Eisert

This is a response to Mr. [redacted] complaint submitted on 1/07/2016 to the Revdex.com.
Up to this time [redacted] has been referring to an invoice from [redacted]’s automotive in the amount of $5,500.00 that he has yet to produce.  I do not know if the amounts that [redacted] has been referring to are correct or what amounts can be attached to specific work that was done to Mr. [redacted] car by the second mechanic.
If [redacted] wants to resolve this matter in a timely fashion, he must provide the information that he is using for his position. After this information has been supplied, MG Services will review it and prepare to present its case before a Revdex.com arbitrator.
I do not believe that a settlement can be achieved with discussions just between the two parties. If there is going to be a third party involved, let both sides present their case and let the third party construct a settlement.
The mediation path will take time but will not necessarily produce any results in this particular case.
If that turns out to be the case, additional time will have been spent pursuing a non-result.
Enough time has already been spent.
If [redacted] believes that his position will prevail, why won't he  produce his proof, present his case, and let a third party arbitrator decide whose position is valid?
I therefore believe that arbitration is this is the only way this matter can be brought to a conclusion, in a timely fashion.
The Revdex.com path is the path that [redacted] instigated. Let the settlement be heard and decided there.
If this cannot be agreed to then MG Services will be left to investigate other avenues of bringing this matter to a conclusion as stated in its original response.
These other avenues will incur additional expenses for each party. There is no need for these expenses. Let’s conclude this at the Revdex.com.

This is a response to Mr. [redacted] complaint  submitted on 11/19/2015 to the Revdex.com.  Complaint  #   [redacted]   There was quite a bit of work completed on Mr. [redacted] car with parts supplied by MG Services. There was approx. $400.00...

worth of parts and $1,600.00 of labor put into those repairs. These costs can be found within the text of the invoice that [redacted] received on or about September 9, 2015. These repairs are clearly documented with descriptions and photos in the first 15 pages of the final report supplied to [redacted] on May 20th 2015. The remainder of the work is documented on the pages 16, 17, 18, and 19 in the final report was completed between May 20th and when [redacted] removed the car from my shop to go to his family meeting. The conclusion on page 20 of the final report was written after I discovered what had happened to the car after it left my shop.             [redacted] has not made any accusations that MG Services has charged him any work not completed. Nor has [redacted] made any accusations that the parts listed were not installed on his car.  Therefore the total invoice from MG Services accurate, valid, and overdue.             Not everything on the car was repaired because it was not brought back to my shop following Mr. [redacted] family visit. I still have Mr. [redacted] air cleaner canister and plenum at the shop. I am not holding them for ransom. They will be included as a part of the final settlement.             [redacted] needs to specifically identify any and all places where he posted any comments about MG Services on the Internet. A hard copy of these comments also needs to be supplied to MG Services.             [redacted] needs to send and have posted a neutral letter to all sites stating that he has reached an equitable settlement with MG Services.             [redacted] never states that [redacted] had to redo any repair that was done at MG Services. It is my understanding that [redacted] also tried to track down the intermittent miss. It took him a significant amount of time to track it down.             However, additional work was done at [redacted] shop. These repairs were brought about from other issues that manifested themselves after the car was taken from MG Services. The carburetor rebuild, electronic ignition, replacing core plugs, head work /valve job, and possibly other work are just some of the things that were done at [redacted] shop. None of things were within the scope of the work specified to be done while the car was at MG Services. [redacted] invoice reflects what [redacted] and [redacted] discussed and agreed to do and had nothing to do with MG Services.             I had no control over what or how anything was done to the car after it left my shop so I am not responsible for what [redacted] did or what he was told to do to the car. I am not responsible nor will I subsidize Mr. [redacted] bill from [redacted] Automotive. .             Based on all of the information presented to the Revdex.com and the summery above, it is the position of MG Services that [redacted] is responsible for the cost of all parts and labor (1,974.05) for the work that he authorized on or about April 12, 2015 which was prior to any work being started.               Payment, in full, must be made by the end of business on December 30, 2015. If either cash, certified check, or postal money order is not received by MG Services by that date, then MG Services will pursue any and all other avenues to collect this bill.                                                  James Pesta MG Services
