Fantastic service!!!!!!! My door would not open when we pushed the button and l use that thing like my front door. So I called J&S on a Sunday and they actually answered the phone and were able to come out several hours later. The tech arrived on time, calling before his arrival. It turns out we had a broken spring which had also damaged my 8 year old opener. John, the tech was very knowledgeable and patient when explaining the options available to us. He ended up replacing the spring and garage door opener which only took him about 2 hours. We opted for the better Liftmaster opener because it had battery backup and a keypad. Money well spent!!!!!! I would use them again if needed. This company was AWESOME!!!!!!!
Be careful of the hidden cost with these guys. I don't usually write bad about anyone but I also don't like feeling like I am getting ripped off, so here's my story and you can come to your own conclusion. I was having some issues with my lift master garage door opener not closing all the way with the car remote, every time you tried to close the door, it acted like something was in the way and would reopen plus the light was not coming on when you walked in or drove in. The only way to get the door to close all the way was to hold the large wall button in, so I checked around and found this company had the lowest service fee of $55.00. so I gave them a call.They came out to see what was going on, I mentioned that I thought it might be the eyes so they looked around them but did not move or touch them in any way, they looked at the top system and played with the switch a little and for some reason the door also gave them trouble opening all the way, but I had not had that trouble before. They informed me that with everything that was going on they thought I needed a new system, and that it would be more cost effective to replace the whole unit at 569.00. I said wow that's a lot, I only paid 300.00 for it when I bought it, he said that was 10 years ago and prices change. I said what about the eyes, do you think they could be what's bad, they said it's possible and it's 130.00 to change just them, but since it's 10 years old, It would be best if I just replaced it all at the same time or I might have to keep replacing parts and that would cost a lot more in the end. . I said I need to talk to my husband so I called him and he wanted to check some other prices before we made a decision. They said that if they have to come back out again, there would be another service fee added, I said doesn't it go toward the cost if we decide to get a new system? They said only if I sign right now, I said what if you go to lunch and then come back while we make a decision and they said again it would still cost another service fee if they leave and have to come back. I said never mind I will take my chances. I searched around and found my old paper work for who originally installed the garage door opener, which I should have done to begin with, so I gave them a call. They came out the next day and the guy wasn't there 5 minutes before he found that the wires connecting the eyes to the system had come apart. He reconnected those and everything worked fine! YaY! Gee I could of done that if I knew what I was looking for. He also did a small adjustment of tightening everything in the system, he replaced the broken cover on the light fixture, and programed me a new remote. All this was covered in the service fee of 75.00 with no extra labor fee an it's guaranteed for 30 days! I did ask the office about the cost of a new system just in case and they said first of all I shouldn't need one because I have one of the best and they are built to last longer than 10 years and if I did need one it was 320.00. WOW! that's only 20.00 more than what I paid 10 years ago! Imagine that! An HONEST company! I did call this company back to let them know that I felt like I was being taken advantage of, that the only thing they wanted to do was to sell me a new system when there was nothing wrong with mine except some wires had come apart. which they did not even check out when I asked them to or they would of seen that. I was informed by the manager that if they had re-connected the wires that would have been an additional labor fee. I said excuse me, just to re-connect 2 wires would have cost an extra fee?? He said yes mam, we have to pay them so much an hour and for the work they do, plus their gas, I said that's definitely not my problem! so I asked what does the service fee cover? just showing up in my driveway?? He said that yes mam that about sums it up. Wow, really! Needless to say I just hung up! I'm not saying they couldn't have done the job but to be careful of the extra fees if they do a job for you.
I am very pleased with the garage door repair service I received today. Mike arrived as scheduled and was very polite and professional. He explained the repairs completely and demonstrated that he was extremely knowledgeable in his work. He worked efficiently and as I watched I felt very comfortable with the quality of his work. He performed a thorough inspection of the existing door system to make sure it was also in proper working order. My repaired garage door works great now and the replaced parts have an 18-year warranty. I highly recommend this company for high quality garage door repairs/service.
