It all started with a slider door to the deck that water had destroyed inside the vinyl cladding Being an engineer, with all kinds of tools, I could handle it Long story short, I soon found that I was in way over my head with extensive hidden damage present beyond the door I called an acquaintance, who works for a building supply company, seeking recommendations for a contractor who really had the knowledge and skills to deal with with complicated repairs He said that company policy prohibited him from recommending anyone, but for what it was worth, out of all the countless contractors that he deals with professionally, he hired MHI for a new addition on his own house Need I say more?
After giving me a quote, that I initially though was high, but turned out to be low, MHI showed up on schedule with an enclosed trailer, equipped with every tool in the book, and it stayed on site until the job was completed to the last detailWe all know the horror stories about the Good Enough Construction company that shows up in a pickup, collects up-front money, then bounces from job-to-job with unfulfilled promises and performs shoddy work when you can find themMark and Bruce of MHI are a choreographed team that only know how to do top quality work using only top quality materialsYou get a price quote with no surprises or upcharges at the endBTW, I think Mark may be a little OCD, as everything about his operation is spotless, and he was constantly cleaning the job site down to the last speck of sawdustThey have been flipping houses for many years, so they have seen and done it all, the good, bad and ugly, giving them invaluable engineering experience for any remodeling, repair or construction project under the sunBoth Mark and Bruce know all the tricks of the tradeFinally, as an example of their attention to detail, at the end of the project, Mark noticed that it might be nice to add small piece of trim under the upstairs doorI said don't even think about it, I'll do it "No way," he replied, "we are headed to the lumber yard for it right now, and I will set it in, otherwise I won't be able to sleep tonight." I sure wish they had built my housePSI am a private person by nature, and did not relish the idea of having strangers invade my home, even to do necessary work But in no time at all, both Mark and Bruce became like family with their easy going manner and great sense of humor With winter approaching, I am sure happy the job is over, but I actually miss them

In the past I have had a lot of home improvements done by numerous contractors They all seem to promise the world The day they'll start, the day the work will be done, price wont change, etc I unfortunately was disappointed all of those times until working with Mark and MHI Not only did he do everything he said, start and finish on time and charge exactly what my quote was, he went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule thru the holidays and make sure certain parts of the project were complete I cant say enough about MHI The quality of work is incredible and I have had nothing but compliments when visitors come by I have referred and will continue to refer MHI to anyone that needs work done Thank you so much for all that you've done

We were looking to replace a deteriorating deck and to add on to our master bedroom. We contracted with MHI ( Mark's Home Improvement ) and are thrilled with the results. Although we thought we had a clear plan in mind, Mark G[redacted] the owner of MHI, consulted with us to alter the design to a truer vision of what we were seeking. Every step of the process he kept us informed of the timeline and any necessary alterations. For example, he handled in stride an extensive area of water damage where the old deck connected to the house. At the end of each day, the work area was cleared and raked with only essential equipment left on site. While another contractor perhaps could have constructed what we thought we wanted, with MHI the finished work is so much more than what we envisioned. This is a truly professional business that was a pleasure to work with.

I can't rave enough about what a great job MHI did on my home's siding! Mark & Bruce not only sided our home, but stripped it of its original cedar siding. Their attention to every detail in their work has transformed our home from a painted peeling eyesore (that we bought it as) to a great addition to the neighborhood!

Mark of MHI performed excellent work on my home in Marlborough. I had experienced extensive ice damming damage in 2015 and Mark was a great help to address numerous issues including a new roof, sheet rock replacement, flooring repairs and window replacement. He was always on time and accomplished everything within budget.
