past.  Unfortunately, this is called road hazard and without proper insurance coverage, it is the owners responsibility.  More often than not, drivers blame their broken windshields on rigs and ask for compensation, when in reality passenger-cars kick up the rocks from the road. There is a sign on our trucks warning that the motorist behind must keep a 200-foot distance, and that our company takes no responsibility for cracked windshields. Certainly, this does not protect me from all claims.  When I am at fault, I take responsibility and have paid for damages caused by my negligence.  Thank you for your assistance.
