We have been a member for several years off and on ever since they were royal fitness many years agoThis last time we were members for about years We weren't under contract but they still charged us a cancelation feeI had called and asked about a personal trainer for my daughter trying to figure out how to make working out fun for herTold them what I wanted and that I was going to make it part of birthday or christmas giftThe girl on the phone said she would talk to some one and get back to meThat was at least months ago and I am still waitingParking sucksAlways looking for a place to parkNot enough equipmentStaff doesn't show you how to properly use the equipment except for first day your there to work out
After being a member of this gym for years my wife and I started using their child care so we could work out togetherAccording to the guy that signed us up the child care was part of our contractAfter using the child care for about months off and on they have now informed us that it is not part of our contract and that we would either have to pay $each time we brought our kids in or Add it to a new contract for $a monthWhen I explained that it should have been part of our contract already I was told that it's not and they are not willing to admit any mistakesI will be canceling my contract and using other local gyms
On 11/20/15, [redacted] and [redacted] came to Miami Athletic Club (MAC) to inquire about membership to be paid for by their insurance provider, [redacted] health insurance under coverage for the Silver Sneakers program. The [redacted] each brought in a doctor signed Release for Activity so that MAC could...
process their paperwork and they could then use the facilities. However, as of January 1, 2016, due to changes with their insurance coverage ([redacted]), the [redacted] no longer qualifed for the Silver Sneakers program. All of the [redacted] paperwork was filed with MAC under the Silver Sneakers program. When the [redacted] returned to Miami Athletic Club recently, they said that they were Silver and Fit members (not Silver Sneakers), which is a totally separate insurance program and filing system for MAC. They did not have the Silver and Fit key fob to check in so MAC staff needed to locate their paperwork in order to match them with a key fob. MAC staff could not locate their paperwork in our filing system for Silver and Fit because it was filed in the Silver Sneakers system.
MAC staff attempted to locate their paperwork in the wrong filing system, because the [redacted] said that they were part of Silver and Fit. They did not explain that their insurance coverage had changed and that they used to be part of 1 insurance program, but now qualified for a different insurance program. All of their paperwork was filed under Silver Sneakers (which they DID qualify for in November, 2015, but not in January, 2016). All paperwork is attached (see PDF file attached) and can be returned to the [redacted].
There was no malice or expectation that the [redacted] incur any expense under these circumstances. With proper communication, all confusion and error could have been resolved. The [redacted] do qualify for Silver and Fit and can utilize MAC services under their insurance program once they are given the proper Silver and Fit Key Fob from the MAC to check in. It is unfortunate that this miscommunication was not identified earlier.
