This car dealership is nothing but a scam. They sold me a lemon, and refused to reslove the issue.

Review: On or around the end of November 2014, I brought my vehicle in to have some brake work done & advised the company of the transmission slipping. I was told that since it was a weekend they would have to call me back on Monday to set an appointment with the company that fixes their transmissions. I asked how long would a repair take and was told that I would be w/o a car for a week or more. I explained that I have a child with special needs and would need my car & if they would offer a loaner, they said No. On 12/1/14 I called to make a payment towards my plates & told the mgr [redacted] that I could only pay half now & the other on the 15th he agreed. On the 15th I made my other payment & picked-up my plates. On the 19th I called to set an appointment up for the transmission and was told by mgr. I missed my 30day warranty, which I told him that I did not since he knew about the problem before and he told me to bring the car in on 12/22/14. That day my son was sick & I could not be w/o a car in-case of an emergency. On 12/24/2014 the owner [redacted] called me at around 10am & asked if I could bring in the car on 12/29/2014. I was unable to do so. On 12/30 my car was repo by the dealer. On 12/31/14 I went to the dealer to ask y my car had been taken and they stated the transmission. I asked him why wouldn't he call & express that this could happen if I didn't bring it in then he stated cause I don't have too and didn't want too. I then stated my payment isn't even due until today and he said that was another reason y he took it. I asked when was my payment due and he said yesterday the same day you took it the most that should have been done was a late fee and told on the phone about the repo, however they have now charged me for towing the car, repo fee and the my payment & now am being told that this is how he does business. I express that it was unfair for this treatment & was told I could not take my car unless I pay $700 today and the rest which is 313.48 on fridayDesired Settlement: I would like for the manager to offer an billing adjustment and I would like for them to stop this type of practice of repoing a car on the same day instead of talking to the customer. I want the repo and towing fees subtracted from my payments. No one should have their car taken with out notice especially if payments are 1day late and you just want to take it for a repair. The practice is unfair and has been seen in this establishment often. Please assist in any way possible. I could not believe the treatment of the manager stating that the owner always does this and will always continue.

Response:

[redacted] purchased her car on 11-15-14. On 11-22-14 vehicle was brought in for brakesreplaced pads, rotors and emerg. brake shoes)and was 4 quarts low on trans fluid. She was asked to bring her car back on a Monday to have trans looked further so that she would have car for weekend at her request. She did not show. We left message on phone with no response. On 11-28-14 she made a partial payment and was advised that although we would accept the payment, she was still behind 437.43. She was again informed that she must bring car in before warranty runs out. 12-21-14 we called her cell and it was not taking calls. So we left a message on her house phone. 12-12-14 she payed the balance Of her first payment, but then immediately missed her next payment on 12-15-15 l agreed to make one last appointment with her and told her if she missed it I would no longer cover her repair because she was outside her 30 day warranty. 12-22-14 she missed again and then was called to reschedule on 1224-14once again giving her an extension.) 12-29-15 (new appoint.) She doesn't show again. Also her 3payment was due (20153 Biweekly) 12-26-14 and 12-27-14 we tried reach her by phone and by mail. Total owed for last 2 payments 423.06 wlate fees. It did not appear as if she wanted the car as she was missing all her appointments and the last 2 car payments. Car was repoed on 12-31-15. Reposession and tow was 600. Total now owed was 1023.06. We made every effort to get her to pay and do so as a courtesy, and are not legally bound. Any time any customer misses 2 payments, we will repo the car. We did not single her out and I spent an entire hour with her in person explaining this. She became disgruntled and started cursing, name calling and making terrible allegations of my character. I cannot pay a repo company 600 and then give her the money at a loss to me because of her mistake or possible bad luck do to her expences. However, I will still cover her transmission for up to 7 Days from the date of this letter as an additional courtesy, but must state that we cannot warranty this forever as it may have been repairable or even possibly may cause other mechanical issues as a matter of neglect and may try to cause blame on unrelated maintenance. We must receive car to make repairs and will wait for your response.Thank you,[redacted]
