This guy charged me over tripple for a battery. He acted like he cared and was helping me in my time of need but he ended up hustling me. It was wrong and unethical.
Review: My vehicle was involved in an accident on [redacted], 2013. My car was towed to the company's location that evening. I called the very next day and went to clean out my car so my vehicle could be released to my insurance company's loss company [redacted]. When [redacted] called to let the owner of [redacted] know they were coming to pick up the vehicle on Thursday [redacted], he lied to them and said I needed to clean out the car and that I didn't authorize release of the vehicle. I returned to his location on the [redacted] because he informed me he found items in my dashboard but couldn't tell me what they were. I looked in the car again and nothing was there. He was supposed to release the vehicle again on Friday, [redacted] but wouldn't release it yet again. He did not release my car to [redacted] until Tuesday,[redacted] and charged my insurance company over $2,000 in storage fees. My navigator also went missing from my vehicle and he blamed it on the volunteer firemen that were at the scene of the accident. By playing games and taking 7 days to release my car he delayed my claim and ability to go pick up my new vehicle because my claim couldn't be settled.Desired Settlement: I believe [redacted] should have to refund some of the money back to my insurance company that he was paid for the storage of my vehicle. $250 a day for storage of a vehicle that should have been released 2 days after he towed it to his lot is price gouging!

Response:
In response to your inquiry involving [redacted], I have made it very clear that this has absolutely nothing to do with [redacted]
and son incorporated. The vehicle was involved in an accident on June ** and was towed in after being recovered from going off a road
and striking a tree. The following day someone came and removed all personal belongings from the vehicle I was not present when they
came to do this so I'm not sure exactly who it was. At that point the vehicle was set to be released to the insurance company for pickup.
On Thursday approximately noon time someone called me stating they were the owner and when they had removed their belongings the
previous day they noticed that a GPS was missing this was supposedly in the glove compartment. The stated the power cable and the
accessories were there but the unit itself was gone. This would be very peculiar because obviously the unit is no good without the power
cable. In order to try and prevent any further problems I notified the duchess county sheriffs office the [redacted] notified me that the owner
of the vehicle would need to make the report is she so desired. They also stated the vehicle obviously could not be released until the
situation was resolved as they made need to do an investigation of their own. I looked further through the vehicle and noticed more
belongings that had gotten jammed up behind the glove compartment during the accident. I did not find a GPS but I did find many
additional CDs and papers. In a conference call with the owner and the insurance company I explained in this exact situation and the
owner decided to come RE inspect the vehicle to see if she can find her GPS which she did show up on Saturday the **. After she
inspected the vehicle she never made any further contact with me I assumed it was OK to release the vehicle at that point. Monday
morning July ** I faxed all the paperwork to [redacted] including any outstanding charges. Any and all charges are at the rates approved
by the insurance company this includes the towing, a cleanup at the scene, winching, waste disposal, yards service, any additional labor.
The vehicle was then available for pick up from July *, I do not know what happened or why [redacted] did not pick up the vehicle the following
day, I called the insurance company to make an inquiry on the third to find out why the vehicle was still here after being placed on hold
for nearly 30 minutes I hung up. We were closed on July * as most of the world was and reopened at 7:00 AM July **. That following
Monday I tried calling the insurance company again to try to mitigate any excess of losses as storage was accumulating. The storage rate
again as I said was approved by the insurance company and is not $250 a day as stated by the owner . The approved rate by her insurance
company is $75.00 a day . I finally got a phone call from [redacted] late on Wednesday evening asking if they could pick the vehicle up the late
on Wednesday because they had messed up. I said I could not stay late that evening but in order to make everything go more smoothly
I would give them a discount and not charge storage for the last day or two that it was there I do not remember which at this time.
As you can see some of the dates the owner obviously has confused in her head, the only delay there was was due to the owners insistence
that there was a GPS stolen which she makes reference to the fire department. All I said to her was that some of the emergency providers
may have moved it added may have been misplaced or left outside the vehicle. In the owner's second letter she also made reference to a
allegations from a sergeant in the [redacted] police department, all I can say is that this particular sergeant is under investigation for these
comments at this moment and if you would please check for yourself my business is not in the town of [redacted] therefore I am not
qualified to be on that to list. Very simple no other reason. As you can see there was no unnecessary delay on my part, there was no
unauthorized unreasonable charges, we did everything we could to follow all procedures including those of the sheriffs office, the insurance
company, and [redacted]. If there's any further information you need please feel free to contact me again

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Good afternoon [redacted],
[redacted] lied in the statement he made to you. I called him the very next day after my car was towed to find out where he was located so I could come and clean out my car. When I arrived on Wednesday, June [redacted] to clean out my car he was not present, just his workers. I went with my dad to clean out my car and noticed my navigator was missing. I went back inside to get my keys, neither of the workers knew where they were so they had to call [redacted] to tell them where they were located. I asked his worker if there was anything I needed to sign and he told me I was all set. I called [redacted] the next day to let him know my navigator was missing and he told me HE HIMSELF PERSONALLY TOWED MY CAR and that he didn't see a navigator and that he isn't pointing any fingers but the fire department volunteers take belongings out of cars all the time. He at NO POINT told me he was calling the sherrif's department to report it stolen and absolutely DID NOT inform me that this would delay the release of my vehicle. He most certainly DID NOT state this on the phone with my insurance carrier, with whom I can most certainly confirm this with. He actually screamed at her on the phone which made her call me to conference him on the call to explain why my vehicle release had been delayed. AT NO POINT did he tell either of us that the vehicle could not be released. He did tell me he found items in my dashboard but DID NOT tell me what they were. When I got there he said he didn't know what was up in the dashboard that I would have to get underneath and look for myself. NOTHING WAS THERE. When [redacted] came to pick up my vehicle he told them they had to come back it was too late at 4pm (he closes at 5). [redacted] in NO WAY messed up, [redacted] held my vehicle without cause so he could overcharge my insurance company for fees. When [redacted] came with a check he turned them away stating he only accepts CASH. He made [redacted] pay him $2,862 in CASH to release my vehicle.
[redacted] is a thief and a compulsive liar. Never ONCE did he tell me that the fire department may have misplaced my navigator or left it outside. HE BLAMED THEM..."I can't point fingers BUT things go missing from vehicles all the time. They look through the car before they release it to me". HE NEVER told me my car was delayed on the INSISTENCE my navigator was missing. I ASKED HIM ABOUT IT ONCE AND NEVER BROUGHT IT UP AGAIN...AT ALL!!!!
I had a car accident last year and my car was towed to a different facility...the car was released in TWO days not FOURTEEN.
I DO NOT have dates mixed up in my head, nor am I confused. [redacted] delayed my claim payment, thefore delaying my new vehicle purchase. So, please believe me when I tell you that I have every date correct as I was following up every 2 days to find out if he had released my vehicle for processing.
I will get a call log from my insurance company showing any dates [redacted] called them...I bet there were ZERO calls from him.

Response:
This situation is getting to be a little crazy and repetitive. All I can do is repeat what I have already told you.
The vehicle was cleaned out by the customer the day after the accident. The day after that the customer called
and stated that a navigation unit was stolen from a vehicle. But the seif left the power cord in the mounting device
behind this seems a very peculiar. I looked for the device did not see it and reported it to the duchess county
sheriffs office to [redacted]. The following day the insurance company called to have the vehicle picked up I
told them it could not be picked up until we rectified the problem with the missing navigation device as per the [redacted]
and I wanted the customer to know that are concern was being taken seriously. I then had the customer
comeback and check a second time for the navigation unit after I've removed some of the glove compartment.
Once she was satisfied I've released the vehicle to [redacted]. As clearly marked on the invoice that I sent them it was to be cash
payment. They did not send cash the first time they said they would be back the next day with the cash.
Between the holiday of July ** and the time they picked it up I cannot speak for what [redacted] did or did not do.
That is their internal business and problems. Then as I stated to you I actually reduced the storage by one day because
they had called the at 5:00 a asking me to stay late and I said I could not but I would do not favor and remove the extra day
of storage. As for the allegations they are all false. I'm not a thief go or a compulsive liar I did tell the customer and that police
department and the fire department both go through the vehicle surly and her device may be at got misplaced.
In short there was absolutely no delay on my part I would have release a vehicle the following day if it were cleaned out
and there was no concern about stolen merchandise. After that any delay was caused
by a lack of attention at the insurance company and [redacted]. If you or any of your mediators or the customer
have any other questions or concerns please feel free to call me anytime we 4 hours a day seven days a week.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Good afternoon [redacted]
Have you spoken with [redacted] at GMAC yet to confirm what myself and [redacted] has stated in regards to [redacted] accounts of what happened?
[redacted] direct line is [redacted].
Once you speak with [redacted], she will confirm everything I have told you.
I also again feel that this really is never going to be resolved because [redacted] keeps saying the same lies over and over again anyway and this is how he will get out of being held responsible for his actions, by not telling the truth. Until we both become exhausted and just give up.
