Ms. [redacted] has two insurance companies. Anthem is primary and Medicaid is secondary. The patient came in to have a crown down and was given an estimate of $617.50 out of pocket in which she opted to finance through Care Credit. Anthem insurance was to pay the remaining balance of $733.50. We filed the claim to Anthem and they sent the claim into review with their consultants which delayed the processing of the claim by 3 months. During that 3 month period of time the patient came in and had additional treatment in the form of fillings. Fillings are covered by both Anthem and Medicaid so if the patient was maxed on benefits with Anthem then Medicaid would pay for them in full. Due to her crown claim going into review with Anthem's consultants, they ended up processing the fillings which were done after the crown and paid for the fillings first and therefore maximizing her years benefits with them. This in turn caused them to deny the crown as now her insurance benefits where now showing as maxed. I made an attempt to speak with Ms. [redacted] regarding this matter and she was to upset to assist us in correcting the matter with Anthem. Her account was sent to our collection agency Creditors Service of Indiana on 9-12-14. After receiving the above referenced complaint, I have reviewed this matter with Dr. Tillery and he has stated that he will go ahead and write off the balance in order to assist Ms. [redacted] during her time of need. I have contacted Creditors' Service and advised them to dismiss the account entirely. So as of 10-9-14 the balance due for Ms. [redacted] has been written off. We hope this helps with Ms. [redacted]'s ongoing health issues and brings her comfort. We wish her health and happiness.
