I was at the Garden of Eden 9/7/about 7:20PMI took my friend there who does not driveShe wanted to make a purchase As I entered the building I was met by a security person who looked mean and unfriendly who was pointing in a direction I should goI was also taken back by the stench that absorbed the premisesI decided not to wait for my friend inside the building so I went outside where the air was freshI was asked by security to wait in my carI asked why? This is a public sidewalkI would agree to move feet away from the building and stand thereWell, that wasn’t good enough for Garden of EdenI went in to speak with the managerThe manager said very little to clue me in as to why GOE was asking me to move feet north or southAfter several more security people attempting to get me to move more than feet from the GOEI decide they had no jurisdiction to do so and GOE policy was being unreasonable I kept feet from the building, feet from the building entrance doorI am a non-smoker in my 60's not wearing a hoodie or sunglasses and dressed in shorts, a nice button down shirt, gray hair, pale skin and a little overweightThe next thing that happened security told my friend to leave the building and speak to me otherwise they would refuse service to her! At the very least, considering my obvious non-threatening appearance they could have made a 5-minute exception considering the line for service was long and it appeared I would have to wait a while for my friend to complete her businessBottom line: I did not feel safe around the building inside or out and it was employees or contracted security or GOE policy that all gave me the creepsBAD BUSINESSI'm asking for an explanation and proof of two items1) The reason for asking public citizens to keep a foot distance from this business while not moving on the public sidewalk2) The actual permit permitting GOE to have the policing enforcement authority to not allow bystanders within such extraneous yardage limits of the business propertyI will be filing a formal complaint with the local authorities
