Michael's Auto Sales repaired the vehicle at no cost to meI am satisfied with what has been done to the vehicleNo further action is necessaryThank you

Review: We purchased a vehicle from Michaels Auto Sales on October 31st of 2013. At the time of purchase it had no inspection sticker on it and when my wife made reference to this fact they said they'd take care of it. The car is a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe and only had 37k miles on it. It was said by the dealership to be a "gem and a lucky find". They dealer got my wife to sign up for the gap insurance and the extended warranty as it seemed like the right thing to do for this "gem". 5 months later (April 5th) we moved to Oklahoma. The day following us arriving here a brake line blew. Since then we've taken it to 6 mechanics and 1 dealership. Nobody is willing to work on this vehicle as the entire undercarriage and brake system is rotten out. I have pictures to go with this claim. The dealership here in OK are the only mechanics willing to work on it but are quoting $7,000 for repairs. They've said it appears as if the vehicle was involved in a flood and that the reason we couldn't see this damage before we bought the vehicle (because we did crawl under it to check before we purchased it) was because the entire bottom of the vehicle was painted black to hide the damage. This vehicle was fraudulently sold to us as they misrepresented this vehicle. There is no way that this vehicle could of passed a state inspection 5 months ago. This type of damage takes years to happen. This vehicle was supposed to last us 4-5 years and we didn't even get 6 months or 5k miles out of it. This vehicle is undrivable.Desired Settlement: We want the Dealership that we bought this vehicle from to take it back. We are not asking for our money back that we've paid on it, we only want to walk away from it with no further debt owed on it.

Response:

We are in agreement with the settlement the customer has requested. I have contacted the bank and they will be contacting the customer as well. I just need to know the location of the vehicle so that I may have it picked up.

Review: LET ME FIRST START BY SAYING I HAVE BEEN IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY FOR OVER 25 YEARS IN BOTH SALES AND SERVICE.SO I HAVE BEEN ON BOTH SIDES OF THIS ISSUE.THE COMPLAINT INVOLVES THE "DOWN PAYMENT".I WAS TOLD BY SALES REP [redacted] THE DOWN PAYMENT WOULD BE 1,000.00 DOLLARS.I TRADED A VEHICLE FOR DOWN PAYMENT,THE CAR IS LEASED,MR.[redacted] TOLD ME TO LIE TO TO LEASING COMPANY AND TELL THEM I PUT 1,000.00 CASH DOWN,NOT SURE WHY HE SAID I NEEDED TO DO THIS BUT NONE THE LESS I DID EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THAT.ALL PAPERWORK WAS SIGNED BY MR. [redacted],THE FINANCE MANAGER AND MY WIFE-[redacted] AND MYSELF.THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TURNED OVER TO US THIS WAS ON SATURDAY JAN.11,2014 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:00 PM.ON MONDAY JAN.13,2014 I WAS CONTACTED BY MR.[redacted] STATING THEY NEEDED AN ADDITIONAL 300.00 CASH TO COVER DIFFERENCE OF DOWN PAYMENT,I HOWEVER WAS OUT OF TOWN DUE TO FAMILY CONCERN.MR.[redacted] THEN BEGAN CALLING ALMOST TO POINT OF HARASSING MY WIFE AT WORK WHERE SHE CANNOT RECEIVE PERSONAL CALLS UNLESS ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY BECAUSE SHE IS IN THE MEDICAL FIELD.MR.[redacted] HAS CONTINUED TO CALL EVEN THOUGH I FEEL THE DEAL WAS COMPLETED.HE STATED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO COME GET VEHICLE IF I DONT PAY--WHICH I WONT,I HAVE SIGNED PAPERWORK THAT DEAL IS COMPLETE.MR [redacted] TOLD ME HE DID ME A FAVOR SELLING ME VEHICLE WHICH I DONT UNDERSTAND I THOUGHT I DID MICHAELS AUTO SALES A FAVOR BY PURCHASING A VEHICLE FRM THEM.MY WIFE AND I COULD HAVE BOUGHT A VEHICLE FROM OTHER LOTS.I WILL NOT PAY ADDITIONAL MONIES,AND WOULD HOPE THAT IN FUTURE MR.[redacted] WILL BE A LITTLE MORE PROFESSIONAL IN THE HANDLING OF BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS THAT HE DOES IN THE FUTURE.I DONT MEAN TO BE OR SOUND DISRESPECTFUL BUT I FEEL THAT IS HOW I WAS TREATED BY MR. [redacted].Desired Settlement: NO ADDITIONAL MONIES PAID BY MY WIFE OR I,OR ANYONE THAT HAS ANY CONCERN WITH THE MATTER AT HAND.

Response:

I have never received a phone call from Mr. [redacted] regarding any of this complaint. I feel that if he would have called the dealership and asked for management regarding his problem. It would have been resolved before he needed to take it to this level. Mr. [redacted] did lease a car thru us. Mr. [redacted] did not own a car at the time. His wife [redacted] owned a 1997 Ford Taurus, which we purchased from her for $700,00. She relinquished that $700,00 towards his $1000.00 down payment. The salesman does not get paid his commission until the deal is completely funded. The salesman did forget to collect the other $300.00 from Mr. [redacted] when he picked up his vehicle. He called Mr. [redacted] the next Day Mr. [redacted] said that he would drop it off. Several days past with no response. The salesman called Mr. [redacted] again . He said he was out of town that he would drop a check in the mail to us. Several days passed and no check was ever received. I apologize for the salesman calling so much and to their work places. I did put a stop to him calling the work place so much when I became aware of it. Mr. [redacted] still does owe us the $300.00 I have called for Mr. [redacted] and he has not returned my calls. I look forward to speaking to Mr [redacted] to resolve this to both of our satisfactions.

Regards,

here is the carfax report, it clearly shows a 20,000 mi discrepency on page3. it was never reported to me by the dealer. If I had known this I would not have bought the truck. I want the dealership to buy the truck back , and pay off the loan company .

Business

Response:

We do not use car fax any longer. They are not a reliable source for information as far as we are concerned. We have a law suit pending against car fax for this reason. I have reviewed the car fax and it looks to have been corrected. I have also enclosed our auto check report from Experian. Auto check shows a clean mileage report as well.

Review: The dealership misrepresented the condition of the vehicle as "GOOD". Within the first day of delivery, discovered all 4 ball joints needed replaced. Within 2 weeks rust came through on the freshly painted bed. 3 weeks and the Camshaft Position Sensor required replacement ( nearly involved in a collision due to this). 4 weeks and a CV axle requires replacement. 6 weeks and both front strut assemblies need replaced. 8 weeks and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has no record of an Application of Registration for this vehicle. I've yet to receive a registration card. This vehicle has a current Pa Safety Inspection sticker which was done by the dealership.Desired Settlement: I would like the dealership to cover 50% of the cost of the repairs to this vehicle. Repairs to be performed by a mechanic of my choice.
