the roof was installed in November 2012. It was installed per manufacturers requirements and was inspected by the city of south elgin...

which passed the inspection. the current problem is due to massive ice damming in a valley area. we installed ice and water shield 3' centered in the valley and 6' at the gutter edge again per manufacturers and city requirements. unfortunately ice damming is a common occurance in the chicagoland area and is generaly caused by excessive heat in the attic space. the roof is installed correctly and this is not a warranty issue. the owner should contact their insurance company if they have interior damage and have the attic inspected for proper insulation as well as considering having heat cables installed in the valley where the ice damming is. the customer has experienced no leaks in any weather condition until the large ice damn which we photographed and as a courtesy attempted clean off without causing damage to the roof. the customer was not billed for our time although this was a billable service call.

I do not like the statement that he is making that I indicated that I would slander his company that is a blantant lie. I told him that one dissatisfied customer could make business bad for him because word of mouth travels fast. I will never believe that this is an act of God as he originally told me. At this junction he and I could go on forever and forever, therefore, I'm a dissatisfied customer who is giving up. You can close the file with the notation that I'm still dissatisfied.

Again ice damming is not a result of a roof problem. it is a result of heat loss in the attic space. we were hired to replace the roof which we did per contract, per city code, and per manufactures specifications. the customers refusing to accept a well documented occurence, ice damming, does not create a warranty issue for my business. the customer made it clear when we told her what the problem was that she was going to slander my business with social media and any other avenue available to her. continuing to do so will be considered slanderous and actionable.
