Attorney took no action on my case for nearly 2 months
I fired the attorney due to lack of inaction and now they are with-holding my vital records.
They mailed me a refund my $325 which they claim was for an hour of work, they never did. They also only sent me photo copied vital records and not the originals, now they claim to "not" have the originals.
Mr. and our office did have a miscommunication on expectations. We were originally hired for an adoption. The parties are unsure of where the mother is living. We did do work: filed for a new birth cert, weekly searches on our software program (filing costs for each search) and started the adoption petition, plus met with the client.
The miscommunication was on our part as Mr. thought that actually finding her was part of the package so we obviously did not explain that clearly enough. We do aid if we can but it is not part of the package.
Based on this miscommunication, we did offer a refund so that he could obtain an office that he felt comfortable with.
Mr. has since located the documents and the complaint was resolved amicably. (Email attached). He had stated that he was going to remove the complaint. I'm hopeful this is just an oversight on his part.
