We subcontracted our siding work to Pro Roofing & Construction from Osceola, InIn part some of the claimed issues are trueWe have since
discontinued service with Pro Roofing & ConstructionWe initially installed the siding we contracted with the customerThe customer did not want a seam for siding that exceeded 10', which would be standard installationThe customer found Certainteed siding that would cover the 12' spanThis meant we had to remove all the siding we installed and replace with their choice of siding (Certainteed)At our significant expense, we removed the siding and purchased and installed the Certainteed brand that the customer chose and have not charged the customer to this pointSubsequent to installation, some of the siding 12' Certainteed siding warpedWe corrected those areas and again experienced the same problemWe have not had this problem with the siding we chose, which remains on their detached garageWe involved the Certainteed to attempt to resolve the issueWe followed the unpublished installation instructions by the representative; we are still experiencing the same issueThe manufacturer feverishly denies to accept any responsibilityWe have received their form letter that basically claims everything possible that it is incorrect installationI'm unsure it is specific to our installation or they do this for all claimsWe have been committed to resolving the issue and continue to do soIt should be noted that we also installed windows, fascia, soffit and gutters to the customer's satisfactionWe have already performed warranty work to replace broken glass on a window at no chargeWe are committed to the customer

We are not satisfied with Michiana's Best Choice Windows and Siding responseHis response did not agree to cover the cost to fix the siding he installed incorrectly on our houseNor did it guarantee he would fix the incorrect installation or the big dents to the front of my houseHe continues to deny any fault, blaming he siding manufactures despite the professional inspections stating otherwiseInstead he wants to discuss previous window installations which have no bearing on the siding issue*** *** and his crews have made several errors when installing siding at our houseThey have fixed some over the course of the last year and seem to believe that is enough but we want correct installation of ALL materials that we paid him to installHis crews have come to our house several times over the last year which has been very costly of our time and an inspection done on Oct5, notes several problems with their installation work persist
*** *** mentions that switching siding cost him money on this job already but that was as a result of one of his mistakes in the first placeWe originally requested siding to cover a foot span without a seam*** *** wrote up a contract stating he would use CertainTeed sidingAt the time of signing *** *** crossed out CertainTeed and wrote in Crane Siding to save him cost without informing us that Crane Siding does not make foot siding so he planned to use a seem which drastically changes the appearance of the front of the houseHe put some siding on our house and then tried to pressure us into accepting the large seam that we had stated from the beginning that we did not want*** *** then agreed to switch back to CertainTeed Siding which makes siding that fits our house at his cost since he ordered a siding that would not cover our house the way we had originally discussedHe took responsibility for the cost of that mistake and therefore doesn't want to take on the cost of the mistakes his installation crews made
He failed to supervise his crewsHe told us a few times that he was sending a lead guy out to inspect for him but his lead guys never did not show up nor did heWe asked *** *** to do a final inspection of his crews work but he has not but claims the installation is doneEven though anyone can see the deformed siding the day his installation guy *** *** left
When installing the CertainTeed siding, his crew installed it incorrectly which distorted the sidingTwo different inspection reports confirm thisA report was written for corrections*** *** received copies of both reportsThe corrections were not made properlyHis crew tried to fix and reinstall distorted siding instead of replacing it against recommendations and it just returned to its distorted shape after a few daysThey took some of that off and replace with some new pieces but even with new siding pieces again they nailed it too tight and with directional fastening in some areas and insufficient nailing in other areas, tight tolerances, and did not use utility trim to secure the siding
The incorrect installation is most visible on the long pieces of siding but upon further inspection by two different experts in the area, we found that there are several other places around the house installed incorrectly as wellThe garage is detached and a different brand of siding is installed on the garageUpon closer inspection, the garage siding is also installed incorrectly*** *** continues to blame CertainTeed siding and not take responsibility to correctly fix their installation problems
It is true that *** *** had a separate crew install windows, gutters, fascia, and soffit to our satisfaction but that does not dismiss him from the responsibility of correctly installing the sidingThe windows were paid in full and are not relevant in the siding issue
At this point we want a refund for the cost to reside our house correctlyWe have given *** *** from Best Choice Windows and Siding over a year to get it right but they have not been able to do so and continue to blame the siding instead of accepting responsibility for their installation mistakesThe siding in its current state looks terrible with dents in it and the other mistakes compromise the integrity of the materials and therefore they will have to be replaced in a much shorter period of time than it shouldWe have continued to communicate with Best Choice Windows and have given them several chances to correct the mistakes they have made but its been over a year now and we need refunded our money for the siding in order to pay someone else to side it correctly

I've read the complaintFactually, we are simply going to disagreeIf the customer would like, we will continue to address any issues with themI find it interesting that after a year, a so called "expert" finds something wrong with the garage siding that the customer liked beforeCurrently, the customer has a remaining balance of *** due usIf they would like, we will work with their chosen contractor to find a solution and put that balance towards the cost of any necessary corrections

When inspecting each piece of siding, it was discovered that at least out of pieces were installed incorrectlyAt least pieces will have to be replaced due to cracking or cuppingMore pieces could have to be replaced when removing pieces to reinstall them correctlyOn the garage out of were installed incorrectlyWe have a contractor giving us an estimate of the cost to correct the issuesWe are willing to pay the first *** to the new contractor for correctionsThis would cancel out the remaining balance due to Michiana Best Choice WindowsThe remaining balance to fix the siding on our house needs to be paid by Michiana Best Choice Windows to the new contractor before they begin workThe new contractor will have the estimate complete by next weekAt which time we can provide Michiana Best Choice Windows with an exact amount and a copy of the estimateIf *** *** agrees to pay the new contractor all but the first *** to fix the issue, we will consider the issue resolved with Michiana Best Choice Windows
