My total bill was $The owner told me he would take the car to *** *** to have the distributor issues resolved but we would need to split the cost of the repairsI did not agree to the split and once the distributor work was completed I went to pick up my carWhen I arrived there
I was informed by Advanced Transmission that I would need some muffler workI noticed that my muffler was completely hanging from the vehicle and my car which had no previous muffler issues prior to bringing it to Advance was loud and the muffler was ripped from the bottom of the carI immediately contacted *** *** to inquiry about the condition of the muffler when the car was released by themThey informed me that the muffler had no issues and was in working condition when they released it back to Advance Transmission
In addition, my weather stripping which was put on only weeks before the car went to Advance Transmission was removedI also have a dent in the rocker molding panel near the quarter panel on the driver side and damage to the body of the car on the same sideIt is my opinion that this damage was caused by the car being jacked up on the body when someone got underneath the car to damage the mufflerI took the car to a muffler shop and they agreed that this damage was intentional and would not happen on its ownI have not gotten a full estimate of the cost of the repairs to the muffler and the body damage, but reimbursement will be requestedThis has been a nightmare and I would not recommend anyone take their vehicle to Advance Transmission for any repairs

Mr. [redacted] dropped his 1993 Honda Accord off with us on Tuesday, January 24th. His initial concern was that the vehicle was not shifting and the D4 light was flashing. He mentioned that he had to drive the vehicle to us in “failsafe” mode (electronically limited to one gear). Both the flashing light...

and the failsafe mode indicated that there was a trouble code stored in the vehicle fault memory. We drove the vehicle a grand total of three times on a designated test route which is exactly 4 miles. We drove the vehicle once to initially to confirm the customer’s concern and brought the vehicle into the shop to perform a scan of the computer systems. That scan showed that the vehicle was missing a signal from the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) which is required for both transmission shift strategy and proper function of the engine systems. On further diagnosis, our tech discovered that the TPS had been unplugged and reported that the vehicle was low on coolant. He plugged in the TPS and added nearly two gallons of coolant before the vehicle was taken on its second 4-mile test drive. The tech returned and confirmed that plugging in the TPS had corrected the shifting issues but the engine was not running properly. Monty took the vehicle on its third and final 4-mile test drive to confirm what the tech had told him and parked the vehicle before contacting the customer to explain the situation and refer him to a trusted Honda engine repair facility. Mr. [redacted] 24-year-old Honda with 191152 miles on it was driven here in one gear with next to no coolant in the engine. We find it nearly impossible to believe that this damage occurred within the 12 miles that we drove the vehicle over the course of three days. Mr. [redacted] was only charged our standard $45.00 diagnostic fee. As for his claims of stolen items; we have been in business for over 24 years in this location and repaired 10’s of thousands of vehicles. The majority of our employees have been with us since our company’s infancy and to date we have not had any verifiable claims of stolen items from any of our customers. We hope this clarifies our stance on any complaints by Mr. [redacted]. If you have any other questions concerning this issue, we would be happy to explain them over the phone at any time.   Leon J[redacted] Owner/Operator Advanced Transmissions (864)[redacted]

To [redacted] or who it may concern,Mr. [redacted] contacted us initially about his 1973 Chevrolet Impalla on March 23 2015. We promptly sent our tow truck to pick it up as the vehicle was not in driving condition as he stated in his formal complaint. This tow is represented by a $50 charge on his final bill. He was not charged for either of the two tows between shops to repair his engine problem nor was he charged for the repair of any said engine work. We did request a deposit of $300 before any work began because of the poor condition of the vehicle and we have on occasion had vehicles of this nature be abandoned on our lot. We completed the approved transmission work and contacted Mr. [redacted], at which time he explained that he was without work and would like to make payments over time. We agreed to store the vehicle free of charge while he made these payments. Over the course of eight months we received five individual payments amounting to $1098.00. During this time we lost contact with Mr. [redacted] while he was temporarily incarcerated. Upon regaining contact with Mr. [redacted] we explained that there was no kick-down cable linkage on the carburetor and recommended we add a cooler as the transmission had previously been contaminated with anti-freeze. We did not add any charges to Mr. [redacted]' bill for any of this additional work. We waived the remaining $40 on Mr. [redacted]' bill as a final attempt to resolve his discontent. In his complaint he also mentioned that we had intentionally damaged his muffler so I have attached a picture of it to prove that it is merely rusted through, which is not unusual on a vehicle this age or condition. I would be more than happy to go into further detail on the phone should anymore information be needed. I can be contacted anytime during business hours at (864)[redacted]. We dedicate ourselves to doing quality work at a fair price and in a timely manner and in the last 20 years we have gained the respect of individuals and dealers alike. Unfortunately we cannot please everyone but that will certainly not stop us from trying.Sincerely,[redacted]Owner/Operator Advanced Transmissions Inc[redacted] Rd.[redacted], SC 29662(864)[redacted]
