customer spoke with an Account Manager on January 26, 2016 and chose to take advantage of a new, lower fixed rate that was being offered at the time. The customer signed the new contract with Michigan Natural Gas on January 30, 2016. On October 27, 2016, the customer was mailed a notification letter stating that the contract would be ending in December 2016. After receiving notice, the customer signed and mailed in to Michigan Natural Gas a new contract for a fixed rate for 12 months. All 3 contracts signed by the customer included an early termination fee. The customer called the Michigan Natural Gas Customer Service Department on December 30, 2016 and spoke with an Account Manager. During the call, the customer requested to cancel the enrollment. The Account Manager assured the customer the enrollment with Michigan Natural Gas will be cancelled, however an early termination fee would be due on the account. The enrollment has been cancelled and confirmed by Consumers Energy. Unfortunately, the early termination fee will not be waived. Please let us know if you need additional information concerning this matter.

The Michigan Natural Gas Quality Control Department made a phone call to the customer on November 17, 2016 to inquire about the enrollment and to ensure the customer chose to participate in the Gas Customer Choice Program with Michigan Natural Gas. A voice mail was left for the customer. The...

customer called in to the Michigan Natural Gas Customer Service Department on November 18, 2016 and spoke with an Account Manager. The customer requested to cancel the enrollment and to place an agent complaint. The Account Manager assured the customer the enrollment would be cancelled and apologized for any inconvenience the enrollment may have caused.  The agent involved in the enrollment had previously been terminated for similar complaint issues. MNG will continue to monitor our sales and customer service teams to ensure our high-quality standards are being met.
