Three years ago we financed a heating and air system for our home with a finance company called Microf, LLC Everything has been fine until we wanted to pay off our account early For this years our payment was autopay and for that we earned a small discountI called in January of this year to make sure when the pay off date would be and I was told May of this yearDuring this time we decided to move and needed to pay out our account In May when I checked to see if our account was paid out, I was told we were paid out by the operator and she said she would notify their finance departmentThe next business day I get a call from someone in the finance department saying I owed more payment, regular and ballooned The finance department gave me so many excuses for their errors when I said I was supposed to be paid out and what are they talking about having a balloon payment in the end Well I received a call in a couple of from a manager saying our account was indeed paid off, only to get another call a day or two after that saying that it wasn't because receiving our monthly discount through them off, plus they claim that our payment started a month after the unit was installed so that also through them off When all was said and done, I was able to make a deal and get a small discount to actually and officially pay off the account so we could sell our houseI was told that I would receive my initial deposit back in a couple of weeks along with the paperwork stating the unit was ours and the account was paid in full Needless to say, It has been a month and no documents or deposit money I called today and was told that because I paid the account out early then I wouldn't be getting the deposit as previously stated and that the documents would be mailed out in a couple of weeksMy question is what does getting my deposit back have to do with paying off the account when that money wasn't put towards the bill , UNLESS they did that behind our back so they could get the full amount and not the OFFERED early payoff discount This company's finance department doesn't have a clue as to what's going on and continually give out faulty information because they don't seem to understand how their operating system works
