It is my experience that this business is doing unethical billing practices.
At our first meeting I met for coffee with the owner to learn about his business and services he provides. I was not informed I was being charged for this meeting. I got a $900 bill for this meeting and services rendered. I immediately called and questioned this stating I was unaware I was being charged for a social meeting and was only going to pay for the services rendered.
They adjusted the bill.
I later had my taxes done and paid $500.
Yesterday I received a bill and letter stating that I never paid for last years tax preparation and owed $250. I called the phone number provided. It went to a different company and they stated they had been getting a lot of calls for Mid-Atlantic Business Solutions regarding these letters.

Dear sir or madam:We have been in business for many years and have never received a complaint. Here are my responses to Mrs. issues:1) She was not charged for the time that I spent with her at the coffee shop. We have time records supporting the original charges.2) She refused to pay for services that we were authorized to proceed upon per an engagement letter that did not include the coffee shop meeting. I adjusted the bill since she said she was unable to pay because of her business situation not being where she thought it would be.3) She developed a relationship with someone at our affiliated office in Joliet Illinois, so the relationship was transferred there. The billing issue she referred to came about because she was undercharged for tax and accounting services compared to actual time and charges in the system. A bill was inadvertently sent out for the difference. Since I knew of her inability to pay, I would have never sent a bill out to her. All she had to do is not pay the bill and it all would have gone away.4) Her choice of words unethical and fraudulent claims are completely without merit. Clearly they were sent in misplaced anger, is very disappointing and borderline slanderous.5) She does not owe the bill. I wish her luck and hope this can resolve the matter.Best,Ben
