hello,We took at look at ***'s daughters car after she was complaining about brake noise. We did an honest evaluation and determined that her front brakes needed to be replaced. we also gave her an estimate on rear struts and tires. Her rear brakes were fine. plenty of
pad life left. There was no reason to replace them. she agreed to replacing front brakes and wiper blades only. We have been in business over years and pride ourselves on being honest. If it needed rear brakes we would have told her that. It would be extremely difficult to replace the wrong set of brakes. *** has been a customer since and we have NEVER has a complaint from her before. Our guess is that she was still hearing brake noise, perhaps from the rear which could have been some rust build up since the vehicle was a 2003. this is very common. we did just have all wheels off and its possible something was rubbing such as rust. Its possible that whoever looked at the vehicle elsewhere was trying to sell her rear brakes also which made her believe she did not need fronts. If the vehicle needs any additional work such as tires or struts we tell the customer. She is saying she didn't need tires but we believe she did. It wasn't an emergency but the tread was low and should be replaced for the winter. If there were unsafe we would have said so which we did not. as for her talking about getting rid of our old invoices, we shred all our hand written invoices for less trash, but we save all our receipts such as the one she agreed and signed the credit card slip with. If the brakes did not feel right after she left it would have been great if she brought it right back or called. She did not call us back immediately but instead called us back a week later. *** the service manager who is ase certified tried calling her to discuss the issue over the phone but she did not return our call. It is unfortunate we couldnt take a second look at the vehicle to ensure her she didnt need rear brakes but the vehicle was to far away for her to bring it back. We don't think we did anything wrong with her vehicle and that is why she is not getting a refund. Again she has been a customer for over years and we have never had any issues until now
